A lovely, very quiet, fully furnished apartment in Jerusalem's best and most beautiful neighborhood. Walk to the Old City, German Colony, the center of town and the Cinematheque. Must see! Welcome!
Beautiful, airy flat with lots of light and greenery, in Jerusalem's best neighborhood, one block from the Jerusalem Theater, walk to German Colony and the Cinematheque. 2 bedrooms, balcony with view overlooking a garden, plus service porch. The apartment is very airy and surrounded by greenery from every window. 1st floor (one floor up), 75 square meters. Furnished and ready to use. Hi Speed internet. All included!!!!!! Must see, its beautiful. The best part of this apartment is the LOCATION--you are in the gorgeous neighborhood of TALBIEH, this is where the President of Israel lives, it's considered "the best neighborhood" in Jerusalem. There is a small "Makolet" (mini-market) one block away, as well as easy bus access down the street two short blocks, or 3 minutes walk from your apartment.. But this apartment is so central that you rarely need to drive or take the bus. You are walking distance from downtown/ the center of the town, the King David Hotel, the Old City, the Cafe's, restaurants and shops of the German Colony. YEHUDA ELKELAI STREET!

It was great, location+apartment and all. Even the parking was easy.
As Nina writes in her description, the location is the best part of this apartment. It is an older neighborhood with large beautiful homes It was quiet and peaceful. With the exception of the upstairs neighbor, who was very noisy, often until the wee hours of the morning I suppose I could have knocked on that neighbor's door and asked him/her to be quieter, but I didn't. Other neighbors that I met were pleasant and friendly. Noam, the manager, was friendly, responsive, and helfpful. The next best thing about the apartment is that it has lots of windows making it airy and light. On a warm day, I could open the windows and the apartment would cool off quickly. There is greenery around the building; however, the gardens do need some maintenance. It is a no frills apartment, but has plenty of space. The balcony was a real pleasure. It was clean, with the exception of the bathroom. The tub and sink were not clean. The tile around the tub was moldy. I cleaned both before I used them. I left it cleaner than I found it. Some newer towels would be nice also. The furnishings in the kitchen were a big disappointment. It is the only apartment that I have ever rented that didn't have at least one bottle of water in the frig upon arrival. There was no microwave. It was a real handicap for me to not have a microwave. The lid over the stove burners would not say up by itself and I had to jerryrig it to make it stay up. The toaster didn't work and was very dirty. There was nothing in the kitchen like salt & pepper, seasonings, tea bags, coffee, olive oil....the basics. Nor was there a coffee maker. The closest restaurant was about 6 blocks away and the closest grocery store was a bit farther away. There is a tiny mini-mart about 3 blocks away, but doesn't have any fresh fruit or vegetables. There were no maps or information on nearby restaurants or sightseeing information in the apartment. Initially, Noam gave me directions to the closest grocery store. There was a clothes washer, but no iron or ironing board.
The things I have complained about are easy fixes. And then it would be a delightful place to stay.
"We are so sorry you had a less than perfect experience in our apartment. Since we have had many, many highly satisfied guests, and have a very high rating for cleanliness over a three year period, we were surprised to note your dissatisfaction. We will, however, look into this immediately. In the future, if you (or any other guest) has any problems or requests, whatsoever!, we wish that you had phoned our manager who would have been more than happy to remedy your issues, including cleaning, replacing the broken toaster, and a brand new towel. As for a microwave, I dont use it for health reasons, the apartment is "green", and I support our planet. I sincerely hope you had an excellent stay regardless and we will hope to welcome you back in the future. Nina and Noam.
We had a great time in Jerusalem. The apartment was clean with all the basic necessities. The location was ideal; in walking distance to the old city and in a quiet, safe neighborhood with nearly free parking. The property manager Noam was very courteous and accommodating. We had some problems with the hot water and some minor maintenance issues that he promptly addressed. The other tenants the building were also very helpful and friendly. This is an older, no frills type of apartment, that provided a good base for the three of us who were out and about all day seeing the sights.
We had a great experience at this cozy two bedroom apartment. The area (Talbieh) is one of the best in Jerusalem. Very safe and very beautiful. The location is very central within walking distance to almost every attraction. The night before we left we had an issue with the lock. The key to the apartment got stuck in the lock and we could not access the apartment. It was close to midnight. Needless to say, we freaked out because we needed our passports and belongings to leave the country the next morning, and obviously we need to go to sleep. We called Noam, a lovely young person who is a sort of a caretaker for the apartment. Despite the late call, he came over within minutes and after he tried to fix the issue himself, he called a locksmith who opened the door and replaced the lock on the spot. Overall, we had a great experience at this apartment. I strongly recommend.
Everything was exactly as described, a very nice flat with 2 bedrooms (1 big and 1 small bed), living room, bathroom and equipped kitchen. Fast WiFi was also there and working, flat was very clean and equipped with blankets, towels etc.
Good for up to 1 couple + 1 additional person I would say (we were only 2)
Walking distance about 15 minutes to the old city in a very quiet neighborhood.
Noam was our contact and came to the flat when we arrived and left, no problems at all, thank you again.
Thanks for a great experience, it was definitely better than a (more expensive) small hotel room and I would be glad to come back again.
I would like to thank Nina Menkes for making her apartment available to my husband and I during our recent visit to Jerusalem during the High Holy days...We felt so welcomed by Noam, her apartment manager...He was so helpful with our arrival and departure and communicated to the taxi driver for us...Our amenities and the apartment met our needs and we had spacious (email hidden)is is an excellent value for Jerusalem...The balcony was perfect for having a glass of wine, a meal for sukkot, and enjoyment of the peace and quite of the neighborhood. The German Colony was a favorite place to walk and meet the locals and enjoy delicious food, especially the Foccacia Bar...truly a dining experience of enjoyment. All in all, we are very pleased, and are happy with our choice to stay in this apartment....We felt the whole environment was safe, friendly, and very welcoming...Jerusalem, Israel is a destination everyone should visit to experience all that this wonderful city has to offer, and thanks to Nina again for making her home available to us...We appreciate all that she and Noam did to make us comfortable in our recent stay...Marlenah and Hessel
