The Space

Located on the Delaware River, if you are looking to get away from it all or to commune with nature, 3608 is the place for you. Enjoy 11 acres of forested land on the incredibly beautiful National Scenic Byway in Barryville, Sullivan County, just 90 miles from New York City.

Watch Bald Eagles fly from your very own veranda or join the family on the main deck during breakfast. Canoe and fish in the pristine Delaware River, kayak and rafting rentals are available on the river or if you have your own bring it and use on one of the many public access lakes. Hike in the battlefields or enjoy nearby golfing or skiing. Plan your trip around a concert at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts or check out the Museum at Bethel Woods and learn about (or re-live) the sixties and Woodstock. Catch a show at the Forestburgh Playhouse, or challenge your luck at the Casino at Monticello Raceway. If you like shopping or antiquing, Barryville, Narrowsburg, Jeffersonville and Milford will give you plenty.

  • Our stay at Jeff & Oscar's place was perfect! The house was beautiful, and the scenery was such a gorgeous change from NYC. The river is an amazing backdrop, even in the rain. We went ziplining right down the street from their house and we got to see the bald eagles.
Erin, the house manager, was friendly and accommodating- she even lent us salt to cook dinner! The linens and beds were comfortable, and the kitchen was great for cooking. I would spend every weekend here if I could!

  • My wife and I stayed here for a few nights and had a wonderful, relaxing time. The living room / kitchen area is clean, well-appointed, and very comfortable. The wireless internet worked great and allowed us to find nearby amenities and scout tourist activities for our stay.

The housekeeper was also very friendly and waiting for us when we arrived. We didn't need to contact her during our stay but she made it clear that if we had any questions we should feel free to get in touch.

Overall a great few days out of the city.

  • This house is a real treat. I was presently surprised, to be honest. I don't feel that the photos does this place justice. Jeff and Oscar's house is gorgeous, well kept, (email hidden) to get away. The manager Erin was really helpful and a real delight. I didn't want to leave. I can't wait to make another visit. The quality and comfort exceeds ones expectations at a great price. I would definitely recommend.

  • I had such a great time at Jeff and Oscars! The house was so spacious and well kept. We ended up getting snowed in due to a storm, I couldn't of (email hidden) to get snowed in (website hidden) view from the deck was gorgeous, especially with all the snow. I will definitely book this place again in the summer!

  • The house is beautiful and the view of the river from the top floor is very nice. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook big meals and bake a fancy cake. The living room was very comfortable and sunny and (email hidden) for lots of people to hang out. I would happy stay there again! Thanks Jeff and Oscar and Erin!

  • Jeff and Oscar have a beautiful home! Erin was so nice and welcoming when we arrived. Everything was better than we expected, we had a wonderful time and will DEFINITELY be coming back, although perhaps when it's nicer weather :)

  • Our stay at Jeff and Oscar's place was spectacular. We needed to get out of the claustrophobic city for a few days, and this place was the perfect remedy. I mean, there is a lot of space! The place has three floors with balconies everywhere. The windows look out on the beautiful Delaware River, and the house is located next to a woods with hiking paths that go right along a creek. The wood-burning fireplace and fully furnished kitchen open to the living room made it ideal and cozy. This house really blew our expectations away: especially for the price! All the little extra touches help as well. A big grill, an outdoor shower, balconies on every floor, the view of the river, a lovely house-manager, and the location all make this place special. If you need to get out of your cramped NYC apartment for a few days, I would say "look no further." This place has all the stretching room you need and then some.

  • This place is 5*s it is beautiful and fantastic in every way I went for 2 days during valentines day house was warm perfect temp. I would definitely go back and plan to in late summer it's close to kayaking and other fun activities! I can't get over how scenic it is and quiet very romantic a little big for two guests but was amazing! I would recommend this to anyone any day anywhere any time 10 of 10 all the way!!!!!!!!

  • Fabulous house! We were eight with two dogs. The house was fully equipped with kitchen stuff, games, maps, wireless internet. There was plenty of space - even more than the listing lets on. The property manager lives next door and was great. There are great hikes near by and Barryville (email hidden) center with a general store for supplies and groceries.

All around I give this a great recommendation. There is one thing: the house is close to the road - about 50 feet. This means it's close to the Delaware River so it has a beautiful view, but if you're looking for a more woodsy getaway and don't want to hear vehicles going by at night than this might not be the right fit.

  • Wonderful house right across the street from the Delaware river. Better even than the photos. Fully equipped kitchen, nice bedrooms, huge great room, wood burning fireplace, nice beds, plenty of towels, books, games, and CD's, fancy sound system, views from every room. Cute little town, near river activities, close to some state parks.

We were 6 people and there was plenty of room, with three floors to chose from and the great outdoors.

Jeff was great to work with and answered all my questions promptly. Their house manager lives a stones throw away which makes it easy to get into the house when you arrive and to contact should you have any issues or questions while you are there.

    I recommend this listing 100%
