A modern detached annex from main house with all ameneties ...walking distance Bridgend town centre for mainline rail and bus stations. Cardiff 20 minutes...Swansea 20 minutes. Great beaches and Mountain scenery close by. Excellent Golf Courses !

The space

A lovely private annex ideal for two adults but can additionally accommodate up to two children on comfy downstairs bed setee. There is a private shower room , W.C. and wash hand basin within the annexe so it is is fully integral and independant from the main house. There is a fridge, washing machine, full size oven/grill/hob with four hotplates, seperate microwave, Fibre Optic wireless Internet Access, Flatscreen 32" TV with computer connected to HDMI port running Windows 7 also downloaded with movie and sports channels, upstairs double bedroom with work station, comfy double sofa bed/settees for children on ground floor with dining table and 4 chairs. Centrally heated self contained accommodation with separate entrance leading out to beautiful large garden with patio area table and chairs for relaxing summer nights backed by woodland and leading down to the river bank.

Guests will have exclusive 24 hour access to the annex during their stay with their own key. Easy car parking on driveway outside annex.

Either myself or a member of my family will always be there to help in any way possible whilst we will always respect our guests privacy as required.


This is a very quiet neighbourhood of executive homes situated in a cul de sac yet close to all local services and shops such as Tesco Express and all varieties of take aways. Gymnasium and Sports Centre is only a 10 minute walk. There is also a local Marsden Pub/Restaurant within a 5 minute walk

We are situated just a 7 minute drive from Exit 35 M4 just off the A48. Ideally situated for the Millenium Stadium, Cardiff Bay and Swansea Marina just 25 minutes drive in either direction.
To the North of Bridgend you enter the gateway to the Welsh Valleys and the breathtaking mountainous scenery leading to the Brecon Beacons (1 hour drive) and the Afon Valley (45 minute drive) which is truly Richard Burton country. There are numerous country parks and heritage walks as well as many other activitiy attractions, some super Golf Courses (Celtic Manor just 40 minutes down the motorway).
If you are a coastal person then take a tour around our beaches such as Porthcawl (10 minute drive), Ogmore By Sea and the fabulous Swansea Mumbles Beaches, some of the best in the UK.
Day trips to Tenby and West Wales just 90 minute drive.

In a nutshell Bridgend is a very central location along the M4 corridor putting it in a perfect location to explore any part of South Wales within easy striking distance

When my husband and I learned we had a wedding at Bryngwar House we had no idea where to stay. We had never done airbnb but could not find any hotels within a 15 minute drive of the location. We figured it was time to try airbnb and we are so glad that John and his family were our first space. John and his entire family could not have been more hospitable. When traveling from overseas, it is difficult to set up the "receiving end" of your trip. Initial getting from the train to your air bnb and then getting around the area once you are there. John and his wife offered to pick us up from the train and helped us sort our a car hire. Though we didn't wind up needing it in the end - their local expertise was crucial to ensuring we felt secure in our travel plans. The pictures of the space are incredible on Airbnb, but the garden and the patio specific to the rental space are stunning in the summertime. The garden leads down to a beautiful nature trail which can bring you into to town for a pint or to sand dunes and castle ruins. We loved having the ability to walk places and to enjoy the neighborhood in between scheduled wedding celebrations. We wanted to pick up some snacks and wine for a party we were heading to and John's daughter in law gave us a lift to the shops. One the morning of our train back to London, Sue (John's wife) gave us a life to the train station. It is clear that John loves being an airbnb host and learning about the stories and travels of his renters. We had an incredible time and if we are ever in the area again - would stay in a heartbeat!

John is friendly and efficient and the annex is comfortable and private. The area is quiet and near woodlands, but yet close to shops. All in all - good! Thank you!

We had a lovely stay at the annex. It has all the facilities you need, including a nice patio in the garden. John (and his family) are very friendly and very helpfull. From Bridgend you can easily go to Cardiff by train and the coast is close as well. The only downside for us was that we booked our stay too short. We would've wanted to stay longer!

This is a nice little place, outside of the main house and so allows for privacy. It is very comfortable, the bed in the attic is quite romantic, and the window looks out on to the garden, which is very pretty. John as a host was great, and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to explore south Wales.

I was born in Bournemouth but have lived in Wales for almost 30 years so I class myself as a local.
I have several rental properties in the Ogmore Valley and have now decided to also rent out my self contained annex of my main residence in Bridgend Town. Primrose Cottage is an ideal country letting it is ideally suited for people who want a quiet break in rural surroundings yet only 20 minutes off the M4 motorway snuggled in amongst the Welsh Mountains. Woods Edge is more connected to mainline town activities along the M4 corridor.
I am a social person and enjoy meeting new people from all walks of life, I like to think I make people at feel at ease in my company and I will do all I can to make sure my guests have an enjoyable stay.
My hobbies are golf, cycling and sailing , I especially look forward to spending more time in the future on my boat cruising Britains Inland Waterways.
I spent 4 years living in Tenerife so my Spanish is fairly fluent so if any Spanish guests are short on their problem !
Any of my guests will be assured of a warm and caring welcome and I will do my best to please.
