Other things to note
Minimum stay requirements:
2 Day minimum stay except:
Holiday Weekends: 3 Day Minimum
Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Weeks:

We are happy to allow early checkin when the time is available and not a burden for the staff. Please ask and we will try to accommodate, no extra charge. Who doesn’t want to get their vacation off to an early start!

The neighborhood has many full time residents so we discourage parties in our house so that their lives are not interrupted or treated with disrespect. Quiet hours are posted, 10pm. To 8am.

For safety reasons night time parking is PROHIBITED on our narrow street!!! Cars must be parked in the driveway and with a little creativity the drive can accommodate three cars.

The golf course is private property and not a part of our rental. In winter months that portion of the golf course which borders our property is closed. During those months it is allowed for anyone to enjoy the paths for walks. The remainder of the year you can walk along the paths at dusk when the golfers are off on another adventure.

Neighborhood highlights

Samuel Welch and his son William started developing the land for the first small getaway in 1893 then transforming it into Oregon's first golf resort in 1928.

Welches is a quiet residential neighborhood, but has everything to offer for year-round recreation and relaxation, the opportunity to ski in the morning and golf or bike that afternoon. Leaving the car parked at the end of the day allows you to enjoy nearby woodland or river front hiking right out the front or back doors of this home or a short distance away at Wildwood Recreation area.

Cafes, bar, wine shop, post office, grocery story, liquor store, bike shop rentals & repair, and services center are nearby on E. Welches Road. Activity brochures and maps are available at the house or the Mt. Bike Shop or US Forest Service office on Hwy. 26.
There are four ski resorts nearby as well as opportunity for cross country skiing, snowshoeing, tubing and snowmobiling in the National Forest lands.

You can enjoy short trips to Timberline Lodge National Historic Site or crazy Big Foot museum or brewery in Boring. I personally like the many wineries and produce stands on the picturesque Fruit Loop tour to the town of Hood River on the Columbia River.

The options for fun, adventure or relaxation are vast. Life is an adventure or nothing much at all, go for it.
