We had a great stay for a week in this villa. The actual villa was more impressive in person as the photos don't capture the beauty of the gardens and the surrounding landscape. Wayan, the housekeeper, was extremely friendly and helpful and the security (Wayan's father) was diligent and friendly as well. I think it's important to note that the actual villas is a little bit removed from the hustle of Ubud (about a 20 to 25 minute drive) and it's even remotely located in the town of Kelusa. It's great for privacy and being able to get away from it all, but it is a little inconvenient to run down to the grocery store. Just plan ahead and either get groceries for the entire stay or have transport to dine in Ubud. We ended up renting a scooter (through Wayan) for about $7 a day (not incl gas) which was the best way to travel between the villa and surrounding areas. Driving is no problem as people are pretty considerate on the road. Make sure to get a good map and ask any local and they are so happy to help. It's really a great way to connect to local people and see Bali. The pool was clean and good for a swim during the day, though the morning and evenings is a bit cold. The bed is comfortable, though I was easily awaken by the roosters in the area in the morning!

I traveled to Bali and fell in love with it so I decided to retire here. I procured a beautiful piece of land in a small traditional village and had a house built. Thing is, I'm not quite ready to retire. So, I'm renting my house in the meantime. I have been having so much fun meeting potential guests from all over the globe, providing travel tips and helping arrange their trip of a lifetime!
