Interaction with Guests
Mornings at breakfast or evenings are best times to talk story with hosts, farm workers and other guests. We get busy with farm work and running errands for farm, but do our best to be available as time permits.
We are right off the highway in Captain Cook in the Kona Coffee Belt with nearby eateries and grocery store. We have beautiful views of the coastline and sunset from the farm. The famed City of Refuge/Honaunau National Park and Two Step (famous snorkeling spot) are just 10 minute drive.
There is a public bus, but only runs near the farm in the morning. Buses run periodically throughout the day from bus stop across from Manago Hotel which is 2 miles away. We recommend a rental car when staying at our farm.
Other Things to Note
This is a working farm first. quiet time from 10:00 pm - 7:00 am. Our workers sometimes get started at 7am with a fair amount of noise. And during harvest season (fall & winter), several pickers congregate as early as 7am. So, our place is more suited to early risers, which is our typical guest. If you are a late sleeper and disturbed by early morning noise, this may not be the best place for you. Guests are welcome to come and go as they please. We just ask everyone to be respectful of others on the farm during quiet time.
We require a 2 night minimum. The best time to checkin is in the afternoon before it gets dark. We are difficult to find at night, since there are no street lights and most landmarks are not visible in the dark. Checkins are usually from 1pm-5pm and we appreciate knowing what time to expect you. Checkins at any other time is by appt only. The latest check in allowed is 10pm - as the saying goes...early to bed, early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise.
Quiet time/lights out 10 pm - 6 am.
clean up after yourself in communal areas
One parking space provided for each room.
If you have special requests falling outside our house rules, please check with hosts prior to booking.
Coffee was usually out at 8am, but since we had to leave at 7am when it was time to head to the airport Bebo got up at 6am just to bring out some coffee and bread before our departure. We felt very welcomed. Loved that both him and his lovely wife took time out of day to give us great spots to look at and helped us plan our vacation. We love animals, they have a cat and dog and a few ducks. It's a very welcoming environment. We have a baby and he loved having home grown papaya they had out for us. Very sweet!!!!
Just like so many other reviews, my wife and I were able to experience the love and aloha of Karen and Bebo personally. They offer so much more than the small price of the room. Experiences and memories that we will remember for a lifetime. They gave us special places to go tailored to our desires. One room is more adventurous and the other is more modern. View is spectacular and would recommend highly staying here and thanks for the great times we had here.
Nice people, great view, we see beautiful stars: Mars and Jupiter . Very close to beautiful beach, see turtles there。friendly kids, my son enjoyed there. Hope we can go there again.
We had a great 7 day stay at Bebo's and Karen's coffee farm, we loved the chats with them and loved the farm. The pumpkin bread and coffee were a very nice bonus and the view is super especially around sunset. It was nice to have some pets for a week and in the room we had just by the communal area the traffic noise wasn't a problem. Thank you Bebo and Karen for making us feel at home!
Bebe and his wife Karen are wonderful, warm hosts. They made my son and me feel most welcome. We enjoyed our two night stay with these folks. Very authentic coffee farm and a learning experience for us. These hosts know their stuff and will be glad to share with anyone who really desires complete knowledge of the Capt. Cook area and Kona side. Believe me, you will go away loving Hawaii!
Bebo and Karen are very welcoming hosts. The location is great for snorkeling and visiting attractions around Kona. If you are a light sleeper the sound of the nearby road and neighbour dogs may require earplugs. With that said I would recommend this place to traveling friends.
