The Space

Experience what only a lucky few do, the Kona Coffee Farm Lifestyle. Stay at our budget friendly bunk house. It is a detatched room adjacent to the main house on our organic/sustainable Family Kona Coffee Farm. Room has 2 twin beds, and has it’s own separate entrance. Upon request, a cot with bedding may be provided for a third person for $10 per night. Room includes Wifi. Guests will share basic but clean bathroom and enclosed outdoor shower. Its perfect for coming back from beach and washing off all the sand. Also guests may share the communal outdoor rustic kitchen. There's nothing fancy here. Rather its a clean and safe place to stay for the adventuresome traveler looking to explore all the island has to offer.

We provide complementary farm fresh award winning 100% Kona coffee (fresh roasted), farm fresh homemade pumpkin or banana bread and farm fresh fruit (based on seasonal availability).

Experience life on a working organic/sustainable Kona coffee farm in the heart of the Kona Coffee belt. Wake up to farm fresh award winning 100% Kona coffee while taking in the breathtaking views. Pack up some farm fresh produce and head to the easy access National Park beach (approx 8 minutes) and swim with dolphins and turtles and enjoy the world-class snorkeling at HoNauNau Bay or just chill in the shade of a palm tree at the beach and whale watch or cool off in a tide pool. Enjoy the colorful birds and crazy antics of our dogs, ducks, and chickens. Our dog & cat roam around outdoor areas and sometimes come into main house. But they do not go into Bunhouse.

There are plenty of local within a few minutes of the farm. Please checkout our guidebook for recommendations. Grab some takeout and take to Honaunau national park picnic area for picture postcard photo ops while watching the sunset (watch for the green flash) they are real and have been seen once myself.

Our Coffee Farm features nearly 100 year old Kona Arabica trees producing some of the finest kona coffee which is powerful, smooth and delicious. We sell to local cafe's that proudly serve our award winning coffee.

Bebo and Karen

Guest Access

Communal outdoor kitchen.
Trails through farm/property and communal garden and seating area. Feel free to walk the farm and enjoy the sunsets under the mango tree. There are plenty of papaya, avocado, mango, pineapple, mountain-apple, tahitian lime, guava, citrus, several varieties of bannanas and even a few tomato trees.

Interaction with Guests

Mornings at breakfast are best times to talk story with hosts, farm workers and other guests.

The Neighborhood

We are right off the highway in Captain Cook in the Kona Coffee Belt with nearby eateries and grocery store. We have beautiful views of the coastline and sunset from the farm. The famed City of Refuge/Honaunau National Park and Two Step (famous snorkeling spot) are just 10 minute drive.

Getting around

There is a public bus, but only runs near the farm in the morning. Buses run periodically throughout the day from bus stop across from Manago Hotel which is 2 miles away. We recommend a rental car when staying at our farm.

Other Things to Note

This is a working farm first. so lights out and quiet time from 10:00 pm - 6:00 am. Our workers sometimes get started at 7am with a fair amount of noise. And during harvest season, several pickers congregate as early as 7am. So, our place is more suited to early risers, which is our typical guest. If you are a late sleeper and disturbed by early morning noise, this may not be the best place for you. Guests are welcome to come and go as they please. We just ask everyone to be respectful of others on the farm during quiet time.

  • We fully enjoyed our stay at Bebo's Bunkhouse. It's, as the description says, basic but equipped with all necessities and very conveniently located just off the main highway for adventures in the South Kona area. Since it had rained a lot prior to our stay, there were many mosquitos but Bebo's wife provided us with homemade repellent - so we were well protected.

  • Despite Bebo being called away on a family emergency for the duration of our stay, everything was still wonderful. It really says something that everything works perfectly even when the boss is away. Prior to our arrival Bebo communicated with us so extensively we could even call the animals by name on arrival as well as find breakfast. All that preparation ended up being unnecessary as he also had one of the farm workers, David, prepare the coffee, fresh fruit, and the famous pumpkin bread each morning. We missed Bebo's personal tour and of course just meeting him. All the more reason for a future visit. This was still a wonderful respite form the hustle and bustle of Kona. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you!

  • We had a wonderful stay at Bebo's farm! We booked last minute and they were very flexible and accommodating to our needs. The farm is in a great location; not too far out of Kona with plenty of cafes/restaurants/shops nearby and really close to a great snorkeling spot (Honaunau Bay/Two Step) where we were lucky enough to snorkel with Hawaiian spinner dolphins!! Major highlight of our entire trip! Breakfast was good, great coffee and pumpkin bread with fresh fruit available. Our hosts were friendly and helpful, offering advice, available for any questions and more than willing to share stories about the farm and life on Hawaii. The room is no frills but perfectly clean and comfortable. Kitchen is open air with a roof and we had access to anything we needed there. There are workers and other people living on the farm so space is shared but we felt like we had enough privacy. Nice, positive energy to the place and I just wish we had longer to spend there to get to know Bebo and Karen better and further explore the area. I would definitely stay here again if I make it back to the big island!!

  • Than you Bebo and Karen we loved our stay with you Thank you so much for your warm hospitality. It was very interesting to learn a bit about your farm. Being able to use your snorkelling gear. We thought the snorkelling was amazing.

  • Bebo's is great! What a nice couple, very friendly and thoughtful. The farm is amazing; we had a great time walking around and looking at their coffee, fruit trees and various animals underfoot. We based everything we did in the Kona area on Bebo's recommendations, and only wished we had more time to stay! The room itself is clean and private, and we did not cook in the kitchen, but it was a good place to store some of the snacks we brought. Hopefully, we will come again!

  • Staying at Bebo's Bunkhouse was a great experience! Bebo and Karen were very welcoming and made us feel like we were at home with family. The room and amenities were simple and clean. The fruit and coffee were amazing.
Bebo and Karen gave us great suggestions as to where to go, and what to do. They suggested that we go snorkeling at two-step, which is less than 10 min from their place. We were so happy we did! The water was very clear and you could see coral and tons of fish.
On the last day, we walked around their farm, which was beautiful and large! We were in a rush to get to the airport, so we couldn't walk around the entire farm. Definitely put aside some time to explore the farm and everything it offers. (We would recommend putting on bug spray before going out there.)
All in all, we had a great time and would highly recommend staying here! Thank you so much Bebo and Karen! We'll be back soon, hopefully!

    Response from Bebo:

We have a working coffee farm and as explained in our listing, which offers our guests a chance to experience coffee farm living. This includes getting started at 7am as described in our listing. Our outdoor kitchen, outdoor shower and bathroom is quite rustic as described, but quite common in Hawaii farms. But we do keep it clean. The tub in the outdoor shower is an old traditional Japanese soaking tub and it is quite small. Most people don't use it, but are quite amused by it. But it is the perfect shower after the beach and washing off all the sand. The accommodations are as described in our listing. We've had close to 200 reviews (all positive) with the same facilities, we have never had such critical complaints. Yes, it is bare bones and no frills but for most it is just fine. Its a perfect base camp for the adventuresome traveler.

  • We had a lovely stay at Bebo's farm and bunkhouse. The room was clean, we greatly enjoyed meeting Bebo, Karen and their WWOOF'ers working on site, not to mention delightful dogs to accompany us on walks. I loved exploring the farm in the morning, and the sunset views are amazing. Having snorkel gear available was fantastic, along with great advice on the places to go-and so close to amazing beaches. We spent our entire last day at Ho'okena and it was the best day ever, we spend many days there next time.

  • Bebo was not on the island while we were here but his wife Karen was a very friendly host who made us feel welcome.
