A scenic getaway in rural Vermont, the possibilities are endless and we're here to help. Located in horse country just 6 miles from GMHA, 12 miles from Woodstock, and 14 miles from Okemo, the farmhouse provides a tranquil setting to spend time with family and friends off the beaten path.

The space
At the top of Town Hill Road, this cozy and spacious 1800's farmhouse welcomes you to explore Vermont, enjoy the countryside and connect with friends and family. The farmhouse has two kitchens, two living rooms, six bedrooms, six bathrooms, making it ideal for hosting large groups or multiple families. Please inquire directly if you would like a private yoga session from one of our local teachers.

As owner of the farmhouse, I enjoy hosting and am happy to offer recommendations and support you in accommodating your group. All groups are unique so I encourage you to ask questions so that I can help you prepare for your trip. From our local photographer to catering options or local businesses, there's plenty of year-round activities for people who are active and enjoy summer or winter sports.

Though I am sometimes on property to greet guests and provide support, I will provide you with numbers to local contacts who can help service any house related concerns that may arise in my absence. I love hosting groups and getting to meet guests who stay at the farmhouse -- I'm happy to help!

Local area attractions include the Hall Art Foundation, which has been featured in the New York Times and the Boston Globe, Okemo Mountain Resort, Killington Ski Resort, and the Woodstock Inn and Resort. Located five miles from the farmhouse, the Hall Art Foundation features exclusive artwork in a restored dairy farm. Every first Friday of the month during the warm season, La Pizza Lupo caters on the lawn of the Hall Art Foundation where people can enjoy pizza straight from the brick oven and view the collection.

We are located 12.5 miles from Woodstock, Vermont, a quaint town with the historic Woodstock Inn and Resort which can hosts groups for a wide array of services in its dedicated spa as well as a healthy menu for light lunch. Reservations must be made in advance. The Inn has a Nordic Ski course for winter enthusiasts. We are 13 miles from Okemo Mountain Resort and 25 miles from Killington Ski Resort for those who enjoy downhill skiing.

For catering, you can contact the year-round, indoor Woodstock Farmer's Market which has an online catering menu in addition to a prepared foods section that is not listed in the online catering menu. The Village Butcher in Woodstock offers soups, sandwiches, wraps, and other lunch friendly foods.

We are a dog friendly rental and allow up to two dogs by permission. We enforce the usual breed restrictions, and ask that you leash walk them on the neighborhood road and crate them if left in the house. We understand that all dogs have different needs, so just speak with us so that we can work out a plan to ensure the safety of your pet as well as the preservation of the farmhouse and furnishings.

Our location is South-Central Vermont which is approximately 3 hours from Boston, 5 hours from New York City, and 3.5 hours from Montreal, all depending on traffic. The Amtrak trains are the Ethan Allen Express which travels from New York City to Rutland or the Vermonter which travels from New York City to Windsor, Vermont. Many people travel from New York or Boston via Dartmouth Coach. The local Dartmouth Stations (Lebanon and Hanover) are approximately 45 minutes from the Farmhouse. The nearest airports include Boston, MA, Albany, NY, Hartford, CT, Manchester, NH, Lebanon, NH, or Burlington, VT.

Other things to note
You may need AWD. While our roads are generally well maintained, they thaw to muddy conditions a few days a year, and due to changing weather patterns, we cannot predict when that will happen but is typically sometime January-April. Also, during snowstorms, you may need AWD. I drive an Audi A4 AWD (sedan) with all weather tires and have never had an issue getting to the house in mud or snow. The house is on a gravel type road, like many Vermont neighborhoods, and has an incline/hills. It is frequently traveled by locals with all types of cars. In some reviews, people have stated that the roads are well maintained and a few acknowledge challenges during snow or mud. It really depends on the weather, the driver and the car. Best to communicate with me and I can help you troubleshoot during severe weather conditions or make local recommendations.

I love the meadow across the street. My neighbor has done an outstanding job keeping it up; the moon shines down on it in the winter and it lights up the sky. The neighborhood is on horse trails so I like the horse traffic in the summer. I love our local restaurant Keepers Cafe, a neighborhood treasure.
