Alper and his friend were very very accomodative., they stayed up late as we missed our flight and arrived later than expected., also the long queue at immigration added to it. They offered to patiently give directions to the taxi driver onward and also booked a taxi for our pick up for our return. Alper have a sitting-your-on the map of the city and quick-history of Istanbul.
Apartment is quite optimally located and accessible by tram, explaining to taxi driver can be a challenge.
Alper is very plesant host. Flat is cleana but for my teiste bit fare away from old town. Despise to that public trafic is excelent.
Very good located apartmen with very welcoming host who speaks fluent English, provide you with everything you can need during the stay. Highly recommend. Thanks, Alper!
Alper is awesome! He picked us up from the tram station and spent about 30 min explaining and describing the area we lived in including restaurant recommendations etc. At the apartment, he provided us with maps and tourist information about Istanbul. Even during our stay, Alper was always at our service, very communicative and alert. The apartment itself is perfect: spacious, nicely decorated, clean and centrally located. We just loved it!
Alper provided good communication and instruction on how to get to the apartment from the airport, and very kindly met me at the tram station with a welcoming smile. As we walked to the apartment (not so far), he pointed out his recommended restaurants, local organic store and some other local highlights.
He made himself readily available throughout my stay, via email, and once popping in to sort the heating out for me.
It was wonderful having an apartment during my stay; I felt that I had somewhere to relax after a day of sightseeing, something that is sometimes more difficult when in a small hotel room.
There are plenty of places to eat nearby, small shops for any necessities and a great organic shop just down the road where you can buy fresh cheese, pastrami, bread, honey, etc.
The internet worked well, and it was nice to have access to English speaking news channels on the TV. There is a mosque right behind the house, but you really won't get away from the morning call to prayer anywhere in Istanbul. There is also a bit of road noise in the evenings, but it settles down over night. If you are a light sleeper, bring ear plugs just in case.
I stayed in Alper's apartment for my first four nights in Istanbul. Unfortunately the apartment was already booked for my remaining days in Istanbul, and I regretfully had to move on, moving to a hotel. The apartment provided a far superior experience to staying in a hotel.
All in all, it was a great stay. Wish I could have stayed longer. I would definitely return if I come back through Istanbul.
Me and a friend stayed in this apartment for one week and we loved it. The title "cozy and comfy" is more than applicable for this place. There is more than enough space for 2 or even 3 people.
Alper gave us good instructions on how to get to the place and even picked us up at the metro station. He gave us a lot of useful information about Istanbul and was always available for help.
All in all, we had a really great time and would stay there again if we will ever come back to Istanbul.
I was there for 10 days and the apartment is pleasant, comfy. Makes you feel confortable.
Close to the tram, the emplacement is ideal, you can easily go wherever you want.
The host was very helpful and available.
I warmly recommend it, don't hesitate.
Alper was a great host. He met me at the tram stop and took me to the apartment while pointing out suggested places to shop and eat. He then explained everything we needed to know about the apartment. The apartment is located about a 5-7 minute walk from the tram stop and was very easy to get to from the Europe side airport. You can easily get to the main tourist tram stop of Sultanahmet in about 20 minutes. The local area had good and reasonable priced restaurants. The apartment was very pleasant to stay in. I would be glad to stay here again.
We spent a fantastic week in Istanbul! We didn't meet Alper but his mum and sister who are very nice. Alper is very helpful. The apartment is clean and there is everything necessary in. The location is also very good, about 5min walk to tram and then 15min to city centre. I absolutely recommend it!
