The Space

Welcome to my efficiency studio; It is an open floor plan, hand crafted conversion using mostly recycled materials. Was recently referred to as "funk-a-licious" It is a safe, private, fenced dwelling with outer court yard. The Studio is nestled on a side yard, and shares a circular drive that lies behind a landscaped berm.
Sleeps one or two very comfortably. Ideal for one person or an intimate couple. The main sleeping area is a queen size bed, and there is a sofa couch that makes into a full size bed. Has a shower but no bath. Kitchen area offers many appliances and most conveniences except a conventional oven/stove. Plenty of off-street parking. The enclosed court yard has a BBQ, table, chairs, umbrella.
Centrally located for walking, biking, bus line or driving. Only 3 blocks from bus line, 7 blocks from Boise State University, 8 blocks to the Greenbelt. 15 blocks to the Library, 2 miles form the airport.
This is a mixed neighborhood, with families, singles and some student housing. The studio is in walking distance to all the city offers within a mile. I have a couple of bikes that I rent to guests.
The studio is used by me 3 days a week when I am working in town. I built it with my retirement in mind. My son and his family live in the main house next door.

  • This is a wonderful and cozy place to stay close to Boise State University and downtown Boise! The guest house is clean, private, and very well stocked with all needed amenities and household items. Heating or air conditioning keep you comfortable while you sleep in the comfy bed, or relax on the comfy couch. Sherri was a friendly and accessible host who made sure I had everything I needed. The place has a nice vibe and is a great home base for visiting Boise!

  • The studio is very comfortable and extremely private. It is close to the university and the downtown area. Sherri was an obliging host who went out of her way to make me feel welcome. The only disadvantage was not having wifi available, but other than that, it's a great value in a good location. I would definitely book it again!

  • Sherri's studio has a great, positive vibe that left us feeling happy and refreshed. It has all the amenities we needed and was walking distance to most Boise attractions.

Sherri was friendly and very accommodating, going above and beyond to share her home. We literally felt like we were staying with a friend. :-)

  • This is a very quiet and clean studio, unique and not your typical mainstream facility. Sherri is the host, she is very pleasant and trusting. Located in a residential area of Boise, no attached or adjoining complexes to this studio with easy access to downtown Boise and the freeway. No Wi-Fi for internet or television on premises but not a concern for me as LTE network is dependable. Big plus ++++ is there is a washer and dryer in the studio. Many thanks to Sherri for such a pleasant experience for Bubba and me. We will be back.

  • Sherri was great. Very warm and interested in making sure I was comfortable. The studio worked beautifully for me. It was quiet, private, and easily accessible to the parts of town I was using. The washing machine was wonderful to have as I stayed em route to several more weeks of travel.

Many things for many people.
Native of Boise, Idaho...do many things for fun and money. Active, curious, kind. DIY lifestyle. Live at 4400 feet in an off-grid solar mountain cabin with my partner Jack & dog, Lieu. We designed and built our place over the past 23 years. Been teaching myself the Uke, vinegar making and worm farming. 5 things I won't go without....1) Clean air/water/food - perhaps beer (good beer) 2) humor 3) places to roam 4) books & music 5) love & kindness..... Prefer travel by cataraft, but bike, train, plane, feet or scooter will do... Style is laid-back, but enthusiastic . Self-sufficient, helpful guest; useful, kind host. Working on a motto, didn't know I'd need one.
