Casa Quetzalcoatl is located in the upscale neighborhood of Playa Langosta, part of the greater Tamarindo area. The design of talented architect, Richard Mueller, the home resembles a Moroccan villa complete with rooftop dining area with a beautiful tiled hot tub. Langosta Beach is literally across the street. Our villa is within walking distance of fine dining and grocery stores. Tamarindo is a few short blocks away.
On the main floor the beautiful private tiled swimming pool with it's lush tropical garden is the focal point, providing great views from every room. French doors provide access to the pool from both the living room and the master bedroom. The villa has tiled floors and stucco walls throughout. The living room has a TV/DVD with cable, plenty of seating and a sofa bed. High speed internet provided.
The kitchen, complete with GE stainless steel appliances, opens to a barbecue area. The master bedroom with a queen bed has a unique garden shower in it's private bathroom. The main level also has a half bath and a washer/dryer that is neatly tucked away.
The second floor offers two more bedrooms with queen beds, private baths and plenty of closet space. Both have hand carved queen size beds. One of the bedrooms also has it's own balcony overlooking the fountains of the courtyard.
All of this luxury is within an hour of Daniel Oduber International Airport in Liberia, a short flight from many US cities and other areas.
Langosta and Tamarindo offer excellent vacation activities including surfing, sport fishind, diving, canopy tours, national parks, volcanos, golf, tennis, excellent restaurants and many other activities. There is also much to do in the surrounding areas of Guanacaste and the Nicoya Peninsula.
We invite you to come and enjoy all that Casa Quetzalcoatl and Northwestern Costa Rica have to offer.

The house is almost exactly as advertised! It was a little hard to tell what the overall landscape would be from the pictures, so I'll give a little better of a description. There are 8 houses (I think) lined up in two rows with interior-facing entries to a long courtyard area. There are gated entries on either side of the courtyard with a guard at night. The entire perimeter of the complex is surrounded by tall walls, giving a very safe feel.
The house is quite large, with each of the 3 bedrooms sporting queen-sized beds. We went as 6 male friends, but 3 couples would find this to be an amazing retreat. Langosta is really just a ritzy neighborhood about 1.5 miles (walkable for most, cab-able late night) from Tamarindo, which has most of the activities/bars/restaurants.
Overall we were quite satisfied with the arrangements. There were only three major drawbacks. First, the rental office was impossible to get a hold of. I called probably once every 3-5 minutes between 9-10am (they open at 9), and it took maybe 10-12 tries before reaching someone on the line. The jacuzzi (not heated, which is fine during the day, but unusable at night) was not shooting water from the jets. They recently changed the pump, and so they had to send someone out to fix it. They came out to fix it the next day (finally got a hold of the guy around 4pm). Lastly, the water/ice from the refrigerator was not working. This was probably the biggest annoyance, since they didn't send anyone out until the last day of our stay, and all they said was that they wouldn't be able to fix it on the spot and would need to replace the whole thing. Luckily it was easy/cheap to buy ice, and most of our drinks were adult beverages anyway!
I would not let the negatives deter you from this wonderful home, but just be aware of the difficulty getting in contact with the management office.
Wonderful place! Beautiful area, the employees there were warm and helpful as can be. I was greeted as soon as I arrived. The house was gorgeous, everything you can ask for. Ammenidites, applicances, rooms; all were top notch. Would definitely recommend staying.
