  • Our stay in Francoise's riad was amazing. I knew we would love it from the photos but photos did not do it justice! We were collected at the airport by Kamal and Sabah (the lovely housekeeper) brought us to the riad. It was great to have the whole place for just two if us. The master suite us huge (the bed is a little hard) and Sabah keeps the place spotless. Sabah cooked us a fabulous meal, delicious tagine and we enjoyed this on the roof terrace listening to the call to prayer. The plunge pool was great relief from the hear in the afternoon after a morning in the souks. The riad is a 10 minute walk through the souks to the square and once you know the route it is okay. We arrived late in the evening and it was dark when we went to the square- I would recommend getting a map as we got a little lost and got many offers of 'help'. It is pretty much straight once you are on Dar el Bacha with one right and left turn. We will be back to Dar Ahwach- it is a fabulous oasis in the busy souks and Sabah was so helpful and kind. Francoise kept in good contact before we arrived and sent on some good information by email.

  • Magical Marrakech!! What a truly wonderful experience, we felt very privileged to be able to stay in this stunning Riad. The angel Sabah ensured arrival was smooth, the place always immaculate, the only meal she cooked during my stay was absolutely superb...if I had stayed longer I would have enjoyed more Sabah cooking for sure!! An amazing experience and we very much hope to return for longer next time, this is the place we look forward to staying in again without a doubt-the photos do not capture the true beauty and incredible detail, it is also in a brilliant position for exploring and convenience...book it, you will have no regrets for sure!!

  • My stay at Dar Awach with my husband and my mother couldn't have been more idyllic. The riad is stylishly decorated, spotlessly clean and an absolute oasis of calm in the sometimes slightly hectic Medina.
The location was perfect, just on the north edge of the souks and walking distance to everything you might want to visit or may require as a convenience.
The calming plunge pool and spacious roof terrace were particularly welcome in the heat of the afternoons.
The housekeeper Sabah was an absolute delight, preparing delicious fresh bread for breakfast each morning and making coffee/mint tea. She was incredibly warm, kind and informative, although it helps if you can communicate in a combination of French and English. The driver Fayssal was also lovely, he took us on some fantastic day trips and was friendly, informative and flexible.
I have already recommended this riad to some of my family and wouldn't hesitate to rebook when I visit again.
Thank you so much for a lovely holiday.

  • BEAUTIFUL!!! Reting Dar Ahwach has been my best AirBnB exprience ever. The Riad was in a very nice area and yet close to the bussy medina.
The housekeeper Sabah was so kind and helpful - and she made us a fantastic 3-course dinner.
Francoise (the host) was good to comunicate with via e-mails.
I have allready recomended Dar Ahwach to my friends and family - it is a uniq pearl in Marrakesh :-)

  • We had a great stay at Françoise's riad in the heart of the medina.
Everything was perfectly well organized ahead of our stay, with a long list of places to go and all organizational aspects of the stay. From the airport, Fayssal brought us home where Sabah welcomed us. The riad itself is perfectly located, calm and wonderfully decorated - a peaceful oasis. We warmly recommend this place and would come back any time.

  • Fabulous!
Perfect location in the Medina - easy walk to the main square through the souks - but also far enough away from the center to be quiet in the evening. Beautiful, clean rooms and lots of space. Roof terrace is perfect for relaxing and dining and there's a great panoramic view of the city and the Atlas mountains beyond from a small upper deck. Get up at dawn and listen to the incredible sound of dozens of mosques broadcasting the call to prayer. ...and of course the friendly house-keeper serving a delicious breakfast.

  • Dar Ahwach is a very special place and the perfect oasis to balance the crazy and magical world of the medina. It's location is superb, it's interior beautiful and it is made all the more special by Sabbah, the housekeeper, who is just wonderful. You should definitely take the opportunity to try her home cooking. It was the best food we had and that's saying something because everything we ate in Marrakech was fantastic. I'd also highly recommend breaking out of the city for a trip with Fayssal, the driver. The time we spent with the two of them was so important in helping us to try and understand more about Marrakech than just the 'big square', the souks and the shopping - all of which will blow your mind. We stayed for 5 days and it definitely was not long enough. I feel like I've walked out of a love affair just as it began and I'm very sad to have left it behind.

  • Dar Ahwach is a beautiful, tranquil and dare I say it, magical Riad in the heart of the Medina.

Francois was very helpful in the build up to our trip, sending us all the info we needed and sorting out our transfer from the airport.

Sabah was lovely, very helpful and very sweet. She made us lovely breakfasts and helped with suggestions of things to do and see, without imposing on our time. She also welcomed us with a pot of tea and some pastries.

Needless to say we were sad to leave, and if we visit the city again we will definitely be in touch.
