About This Listing
A spacious and comfortable traditional 1901 sandstone tenement flat set in quiet cul-de-sac suburban street in a pleasant, safe neighbourhood.
This flat has a bright, smart and spacious interior including a large lounge with bay windows, big sofas, and a traditional fireplace- a nice place to pick up a book and relax.
The bedroom is a relaxing double room with plenty storage and a very comfortable double bed.
There's a well stocked dining kitchen to sit down and enjoy a meal; or it's only a 5 min stroll to quality restaurants, coffeeshops and traditional bars. High speed fibre wi-fi is on tap and the flat has a bright modern bathroom and shower.
To the rear, the flat has a leafy, shared, riverside garden (with a little patience there can be quite a bit of nature to see e.g. kingfishers and some otters have moved back in the last couple of years).
All nearby attractions, shops etc easily reached. 5 mins walk to bus stops and train station - 10 mins to city centre by bus or train. Less than 20 mins to Glasgow Airport by car. Free, plentiful and safe street parking.
Nearby to extensive parks and gardens including Pollok Park - voted Europe's Best City Park- with the notable Pollok House and Burrell Collection museums (good for walks or running).
The flat is a great base for the City and further afield, with Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park under an hour away (if you are into walks / hikes, I'm a qualified mountain leader and would be happy to advise you on where to go or even guide you on a walk- just let me know).

Friendly host that replied to any queries we had very quickly. Home was as shown on the photo's. Area is close to cafés, shops and pubs. Good train and bus links to the city centre. Alastair gave us directions to a couple of good pubs and shops. Thanks a lot!
Everything went according to plan. Communication between Alastair and I was good. Apartment in a nice area - very quiet - some issues with parking - twice I had to park in another street. The facilities in the apartment were very good - a hairdryer would have been good :)
Had a lovely stay at Alastair's place. The flat was beautiful and v cosy and also in a great location to get into the city from. Although I didn't get a chance to meet him, Alastair was extremely easy to communicate with and very informative. We would definitely stay here again!
We had a great time at Alistair's place. The unit was clean, homey, and fully equipped. Loved the high 12ft+ ceilings and windows. The neighbourhood was lovely and had all the amenities we could have wanted. Alistair met us on the day of arrival. He was very friendly and had made sure we were in touch before our arrival to coordinate. We stayed there for three nights and were mostly out and about but it was great to come back to the apartment and relax in a home-like setting. Would recommend this place to any traveler to Glasgow.
My husband and I had a lovely stay at Alastair's spacious flat. It's in a quiet street, but near the main Shawlands area so lots of opportunity to visit cafes and restaurants. The lovely tenement flat was well stocked and although we ate out, we could have easily stayed in and cooked our own meals.
Alastair wasn't around but made arrangements for us to collect the keys and left breakfast snacks for us too! We were visiting friends in the area so it was perfect for our needs.
Great, cosy flat, better in reality than the pictures, easy to get into town, friendly lady in the local Tescos ;-)
Alistair was easy to deal with and very accommodating
Would recommend and use again!
We booked at the very last minute, and Alistair was away at the time: nevertheless, everything worked perfectly! The flat was immaculate, comfortable, and very well located - quiet, but very near to the life of Shawlands. Communication with Alistair was also fast and easy, and he was very flexible about check in/out times.
I've had some very good AirBnb experiences, but this was probably the best so far. I'm moving into the neighbourhood myself, but I will recommend Alistair to all my visitors that need overflow space!
