Big Beautiful Flat in a Great Spot

Apartment - Entire home/apt · Woodford St, Glasgow, G41 3HW, United Kingdom

The Space

A spacious and comfortable traditional 1901 sandstone tenement flat set in quiet cul-de-sac suburban street in a pleasant, safe neighbourhood.

This flat has a bright, smart and spacious interior including a large lounge with bay windows, big sofas, and a traditional fireplace- a nice place to pick up a book and relax.

The bedroom is a relaxing double room with plenty storage and a very comfortable double bed.

There's a well stocked dining kitchen to sit down and enjoy a meal; or it's only a 5 min stroll to quality restaurants, coffeeshops and traditional bars. High speed fibre wi-fi is on tap and the flat has a bright modern bathroom and shower.

To the rear, the flat has a leafy, shared, riverside garden (with a little patience there can be quite a bit of nature to see e.g. kingfishers and some otters have moved back in the last couple of years).

All nearby attractions, shops etc easily reached. 5 mins walk to bus stops and train station - 10 mins to city centre by bus or train. Less than 20 mins to Glasgow Airport by car. Free, plentiful and safe street parking.

Nearby to extensive parks and gardens including Pollok Park - voted Europe's Best City Park- with the notable Pollok House and Burrell Collection museums (good for walks or running).

The flat is a great base for the City and further afield, with Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park under an hour away (if you are into walks / hikes, I'm a qualified mountain leader and would be happy to advise you on where to go or even guide you on a walk- just let me know).

Full use of a very comfortable and distinctive traditional Victorian apartment in a convenient location. Please get in touch if there's anything you want to ask.

  • Alistair was a great host. The flat is lovely and easy to get into the centre of Glasgow. Alistair was friendly and very helpful and communicative. I would thoroughly recommend staying here!

  • We were only in Glasgow for one night, but Alastair has a fantastic space. Very roomy and comfy, with loads of books to explore. We especially liked the eat in kitchen. If you're self catering, the Morrison's grocery is just a short walk away. Thank you again!

  • Alastair is an excellent host and all round good guy whose flat really is as big, beautiful and well positioned as the advert would suggest. What else can I say that hasn't already been said other than thank you Alastair for an outstanding weekend!

  • Alastair's flat was absolutely lovely, we didn't want to leave! It is the ideal place to stay if you visit Glasgow, being so well located and so beautiful. Alastair was also a great host, who was flexible on check-in and check-out times and left us with handy info about public transport and amenities. Highly recommended!

  • This was my second time staying here and the second time was just as easy and trouble free as the first. Still highly recommended!

  • Alistair's apartment was perfect. He was a very welcoming and helpful host and the check in arrangements were smooth and convenient to our plans. We were only in town one night for the film festival but the apartment was warm, quiet, and very comfortable. Great location too. Our only regret was that we didn't stay longer!

  • We had a great weekend in Glasgow staying in Alastair's lovely flat in a great location, close to shops, cafes and train station. Short 10 min train ride to Glasgow central and within jogging distance of Pollock Country Park - perfect! Alastair was a friendly and welcoming host who was really helpful, providing advice on getting to his address and exploring the local area and his flat was warm, clean, really tidy ( put our own untidy habits to shame) and had lots of interesting travel and history books to enjoy, including some containing his own stunning photographs. Highly recommended and we'll definitely go back.

  • This was my second weekend stay in Alastair's flat. As was the case the first time, everything went smoothly and I had a delightful stay. If you want a big, cosy flat in a tranquil spot with everything you need, look no further. Excellent value and quality overall. Thanks again for your hospitality Alastair.

  • Alastair's flat was beautiful, bright, clean and cozy. My daughter and I felt that we had a home away home. In a lovely area, it was quite, safe and most enjoyable. Alastair was very helpful . I would highly recommend this flat as a place to stay for someone who doesn't want to stay in the middle of the noisy center where it is just a few stops on the train, in a very peaceful neighbourhood.

  • Alastair and I had easy communication with each other. We met easily for the keys. The flat is very large, comfortable and clean. The kitchen is great for cooking and eating. There's a very nice view from the kitchen and bedroom to a river just at the end of the yard. Just a few blocks from shops and transit. All very nice.

The flat is a bit south from the Centre. But buses lead directly to the Centre.

About
Hi, I'm local from the south-side of Glasgow - I like to travel on and off the beaten track and sometimes work overseas too. I can let you know the best things to do and places to go in Glasgow (food, pubs, theatre, cinema etc). If you want to get out of town, Glasgow is on the doorstep of some great scenery- Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park is under an hour away - where I like to get around the mountains, glens and lochs- I'm also a qualified mountain leader- so if hiking is your thing let me know! I look forward to welcoming you, and providing you with a great place to stay on your visit.
