The Space

This 2 and a 1/2 bedroom house is set amidst a garden full of fruit trees, organic veggies and flowers, and several giant redwoods. These tall redwood trees towering over the house keep it cool in the the summer. Powerful ceiling fans in the guest room and kitchen are also available. The house has hardwood floors made from sustainably harvested wood, and the walls are painted with natural, homemade paints. A lot of care has been put into creating a safe, healthy and peaceful home that I hope you will really enjoy. The home is situated in the very walkable and friendly JC neighborhood, with numerous restaurants and coffee shops, and is not too far from the ocean and redwood forests. The kitchen is fully equipped (including a water filter), and ready for you to use. You can dine inside or outside, as there are numerous places to lounge near the garden, or under the trees. You are welcome to pick the fruit from the trees (depending on the season, these include apple, pear, plum, guava, fig, and pomegranate) and the veggies in the garden. We are close to public transit and many bike trails, and you are welcome to park your bicycles in the bicycle shed (recycled from an old barn) and/or your car in the driveway. I love it here, and think you will too!

  • Julie is (email hidden). Her place is charming, comfortable, quiet & clean. She went out of her way ensure we had a BBQ for our stay. The fig tree was awesome. We enjoyed grilling on her patio. The location is ideal and walking distance to downtown Santa Rosa. There were 4 of us that (email hidden) and it worked well.

  • The house was very nice, clean, and an excellent value. We particularly enjoyed the back yard and garden that has a large fig tree.

I enjoy living simply and close to nature. I love music, dance and all of the expressive arts, and am fortunate to get to work with elders, children and animals. A while back, I started an inter-generational bilingual community organization that empowers kids to reclaim their neighborhoods, with a focus on ecology, the creative arts, and community service. It's called Growing a Village/Cultivando un Pueblo. Most recently, I've been studying regenerative finance, with a focus on sustainable, impact investing. I also practice tai chi a lot.
