This 2 and a 1/2 bedroom house (with 2 queen sized beds and one pullout futon sofa in the living room) is set amidst a garden full of fruit trees, organic veggies and flowers, and several giant redwoods. These tall redwood trees towering over the house keep it cool in the the summer. Powerful ceiling fans in the guest room and kitchen are also available. The house has hardwood floors made from sustainably harvested wood, and the walls are painted with natural, homemade paints. A lot of care has been put into creating a safe, healthy and peaceful home that I hope you will really enjoy. The home is situated in the very walkable and friendly JC neighborhood, with numerous restaurants and coffee shops, and is not too far from the ocean and redwood forests. The kitchen is fully equipped (including a water filter), and ready for you to use. You can dine inside or outside, as there are numerous places to lounge near the garden, or under the trees. You are welcome to pick the fruit from the trees (depending on the season, these include apple, pear, plum, guava, fig, and pomegranate) and the veggies in the garden. We are close to public transit and many bike trails, and you are welcome to park your bicycles in the bicycle shed (recycled from an old barn) and/or your car in the driveway. I love it here, and think you will too!
Guests have access to everything, including the whole house, vegetable gardens, fruit trees, front and back yards, etc.
Interaction with Guests
When guests rent the whole house, I am somewhere else, but try to remain accessible by phone in case of any questions.
This is a fabulously friendly, walkable neighborhood that everyone loves.
walkable to downtown and many cafes, restaurants and markets. bus transit nearby. extremely bike able.
Other Things to Note
When walking on the driveway, please be aware of the many bumps, as roots from the redwood tree are coming up and breaking the asphalt. Noone has tripped so far, and I hope to keep it that way! Also the wooden gate in front of the house can sometime get a little stuck... but it will open.
You are welcome to come and go as you please. I Hope you will relax, enjoy yourself, and treat my home the way you treat your own.
Our custom here is to leave our shoes at the door, and if you could do that, it would be greatly appreciated.
