KITTY ALERT: There is normally a cat in this apartment, so if you're allergic, please take note. Sometimes she's in the apartment during available dates, and at those times the apartment has lower pricing relative to comparable Chelsea properties because you would be looking after her for me. If this is a deal-breaker, I can arrange to board her elsewhere, but the price for the rental would increase accordingly.
Her current schedule is as follows:
* August 15-21: The cat WILL be in the apartment
* August 25 - September 2: The cat WILL be in the apartment
* September 14-30: The cat WILL NOT be in the apartment
DETAILS: Cute, VERY QUIET Chelsea studio, right in the middle of the most exciting neighborhood in all of New York City!
Centrally located, with easy access to everywhere important. Steps from the 23rd St 1 subway station, and easy one-block walk to the A/C/E or F/M. Close to the High Line, Times Square, West Village, Meatpacking, and more! Also: half a dozen Citibike stations within a few blocks!
Studio space with QUEEN bed and a 6-foot long comfy sofa (the pictures show a twin bed, but there is a queen here now). This is the perfect space for a single traveler or a couple. A third person can stay if desired, but it does get a bit tight.
The apartment is in the back of the building on the top floor (so it's quiet—no street noise or upstairs neighbors!). It has an open, sunny Western view with plenty of light!
Close to the following hot spots:
- Chelsea galleries
- Comedy clubs (UCB Theatre, Magnet, PIT, Gotham Comedy Club)
- High Line Park (elevated railroad turned hip park!)
- Madison Square Park (Shake Shack)
- Times Square / Broadway
- West Village
- Meatpacking District and night clubs
- Chelsea bars and clubs
ABSOLUTELY NO SMOKING!
ABOUT THE KITTY: She is very friendly (to be honest, a bit timid). Part of the lower pricing relative to comparable Chelsea properties is because during dates she is here you would be taking care of her for me. It's a simple job, and should take only a few minutes per day—just feed her, change her water, and clean her litter box. Obviously it'd be nice to give her some love and attention when you're in the apartment (but you'll want to do that anyway once you meet her :)

It is a Cosi, small apartment. Very centric with shops, bars, and restaurants near by. Subway on the corner. Very quiet and perfect for a couple.
It was what we were looking for...
It was our first stay with Airbnb. Joshua was very helpful, he advised us next steps etc. Place is great, NY apartment:) great location, cute cat:) our stay there was exellent and we recommend Joshua as host and his place is the best for NYC exploring:)ation, the best for NYC exploring.
This was my first AirBnB experience and it was fantastic. Joshua was helpful, he answered all my questions about the process. His place was actually better then described. It was very clean, comfortable, and larger then expected. The locations was amazing as well.
My boyfriend and I had a great time staying in Joshua's apartment. The neighborhood was great with a lot of cosy restaurants and bars nearby. It was walking distance to a lot of great places like the Highline Park and Chelsea market, and the subway right on the corner provided easy access to the rest of the city. The apartment had everything we needed and was nice and quiet with no street noise. Only con was that it was pretty hard to cool the apartment down on warm days, despite the aircon.
Was a wonderful apartment that was conveniently located.
Very quiet, set back from the street. great coffee just around the corner at starbucks or the doughnut plant but the later is better.
Overall we had a great stay. would stay here again.
Excellent location. The subway is just a few steps away. Great host. Joshua was very responsive. Place was clean and comfortable.
Great host with a great place.
A couple of friends and I stayed at Joshua's place for ten days and couldn't be happier with our stay! His apartment is very clean, and even though I would recommend it for one or two people for most comfort, three can fit in easily.
I couldn't think of a better location for anyone who wants to get to know the city, since lots of tourist attractions are within walking distance, and for those who don't want to walk, there is no reason to worry: There are several train stations very near.
Joshua himself is a wonderful host: We coordinated in the blink of an eye. He also gave us some very useful tips, and a map with lots of great places to go!
In short, if (Hopefuly "when") I get back to New York, I would definitely have Joshua's place as my first option, and would certainly recommend him to anyone looking for a great place to stay!
Josh's place was clean, comfortable, and in a great location. Great host and great apartment, I would stay there again without question!
