We had a great stay at Zan View. Although the place is a little off the beaten trail, there is signage to direct you from the main road in Kiwengwa to the gated entrance. Russell was very friendly and helpful when we arrived, providing an introduction to the property and some com…

Great place. Clean, hospitable with a pool and outdoor space just a short walk from the beach. It was personal service. The food was good. And, the surrounding area quite.

If you want a quiet but comfortable stay in Zanzibar just a short walk from one of the softest beaches on the island, not teeming with hawkers, this is the place to be, so it was perfect for me. If you want nightlife and energy, you'll want somewhere else. Best part of the stay?…

Jakob was a great host. His home/hotel is clean, welcoming, breathtaking and 2 mins walk to the beach. Kiwengwa doesn't have much to do in the low season but if you're looking for a quiet start to to your vacation, I would highly recommend this hotel. Did i mention the amazing v…

I stayed at the Zan View Hotel for a week in early February 2015. The property is located on Zanzibar’s eastern shore, nestled between two larger resort compounds. The drive to the hotel from the airport takes you through many of Zanzibar’s locales including the bustling city and…

Thank you for your lovely comments, we are all very happy to hear that you had a good experience staying at Zan View . As you mentioned we are still "new" in the sense that we have been opened for only 3 month, starting at Christmas 2014 and up to now. There are many issues to deal with, but all in all we can feel from our customers, that we are on the right path. The area where we are is as you mentioned nestled in between bigger resorts . There is quite a few actually, and we are among 5 small size family run hotels in Kiwengwa. That mean that with the few guests we have it is easy for us to attend to every ones needs and wishes for her/his holiday. We do go a long way to ensure our guest maximum comfort, within the frame of what we have, and what we can do. As you mentioned the salty water, we do know that it is a issue which we will try to handle as soon as our economy allows us to do so. All the area where we are has no sweet water, and we hope that there will soon be a change within the local leadership to provide it. We are looking into alternative ways of getting sweet water, apart from buying it, and we will see how it goes. As you mentioned the fresh fish, I would wish you were here now as I have just bought a huge king fish, which is as good as the name sounds... The AC will be a future upgrade among many, but for now the sea breeze is what we offer. It comes with the sound of the ocean... We are upgrading the place slowly but surely, and thanks for being a part of that. I wish you the best and I/we hope to see you again sometime. Karibu Sana Kenneth.
