A traditional Bothy built from local granite situated at the foot of Ben Rinnes near Dufftown. A comfortable self catering studio layout boasting a wood fired range for heating, kitchenette, double bed, dining area & a separate bathroom, a few steps from the main entrance. The bothy offers beautiful views of the Corryhabbies, situated in grounds of 6 acres, you can relax and enjoy the local wildlife. With 15 distilleries within 5 miles, this location is ideal to explore the Malt Whisky Capital.

The space
Tucked snugly away at the head of the Beatshach, an isolated glen in the heart of Speyside’s whisky country, whatever the season the Beatshach Bothy offers a unique if unusual holiday destination for those looking to combine their accommodation with a country living experience.  The Bothy, with spectacular views of the surrounding area, was built approx 1860, on the site of an earlier holding, by the Glenrinnes Estate as part of their kennels complex where also prior to the use of motor vehicles, it was home to the garrons (highland ponies) used on the local hills for grouse and deer. Set in six acres of grounds The Bothy, occupies the main wing of the Kennels building and stands across from the owner’s cottage.  Now sympathetically refurbished, the accommodation, in two parts, is a comfortable base for a holiday break in Scotland’s glorious Speyside.  The fully equipped living accommodation offers, double bed, modern cooking facilities (electric hob) and, for those brave enough to fully embrace the experience, a woodburning range for heating with oven and hob completes the sense of timeless bothy tradition .  Retaining the buildings original theme, the adjacent private shower room/wc etc has recently been modernised and completes this attractive holiday unit within the existing stone built steading. Modern touches include Wifi, electric radiators, ambient and accent lighting to complement the natural light from the original windows.

This space is full of character and history yet has modern amenities. Outdoor seating with a fire pit to relax and enjoy the space. The grounds contain two types of woodlands and a recently planted fruit orchard, breath taking views with a feel of remoteness whilst being close to local towns for shopping/entertainment. The largest mountain in the county, Ben Rinnes is right on your doorstep, allowing you to walk to the top from the bothy itself.

Guest access
Guests will have access to a large 6 acre garden shared with the owners. A separate fenced private garden for the Bothy, with outdoor seating area and a large Kadai firepit grill. Parking is right outside the bothy.

Other things to note
Any dogs on the property are welcome, however, must be kept under control at all times. When out with the fenced Bothy garden must be kept on a lead where children, family pets or livestock may be nearby.
