About this listing
A large, three bedroom, spacious, light apartment in one of Milan's best locations, near to restaurants, cafe's, galleries, parks, shopping, transport. The apartment has been refurbished in 2014. AVAILABLE FOR EXPO 2015
We offer our attractive apartment in Milan, Italy for rentals from as short-term as one week to as long as two years. The Garibaldi Grande apartment is right in the historic centre of Milan, in northern Italy.
The apartment is on the third floor (with elevator) of a characteristic late 19th-century building, in the heart of the restaurant and theatre district, near great shopping and famous art galleries. It's right next to one of Milan's oldest and most historic churches, San Simpliciano, which dates back to the 4th century A.D.
It is close to trams, subway/tube and buses and walking distance from the Duomo.
In 2002 our street, Corso Garibaldi, became a pedestrian precinct or limited traffic area, so it is quiet for a central city accommodation.
NEW: world-renowned EATALY, Italian-only gourmet food department store and restaurants, ony 10 minutes walk from apartment!
FOR 2015: PERFECT ACCOMODATION FOR EXPO!
The Garibaldi Grande Milan apartment measures about 150 square metres, has 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms one with wash machine, a study or third bedroom, a large kitchen with dishwasher and spacious living room with satellite tv. It has several balconies overlooking San Simpliciano and Corso Garibaldi.
The Grande apartment offers cable TV (with original language films) and 24/7 broadband wireless internet connection, a stereo, DVD, a telephone with all national calls to landline phones included. Weekly cleaning included. Garage available on request for 150 euros per month.
A great area with cafe's, restaurants, shopping of all sorts in a pedestrian zone, near to Milan's centre, beautiful parks and public transport.
Interaction with Guests
We live in the country so most contact is by email, but our assistant is available for hands-on help and comes to clean weekly. Extra cleaning/ironing etc can be arranged with him privately.
Tube/subway, trams, buses: all a few steps from the apartment and Milan's public transport is reasonable and very efficient. In any case many locations are just a short walk away.
Car definitely not needed in the city but for those who want to sightsee, we have a garage nearby.
Other Things to Note
The apartment's location is its strongest point but we are also proud of its mix of old and new. The building dates to the turn of the 20th century and maintains some old features such as the gorgeous bay window in the kitchen as well as the original doors and windows and the characteristic glass-walled lift/elevator. Since 2015 is Milan's moment in the sun with the Expo we are excited that the apartment will be so well-placed for Expo visitors and expect to rent it longer term (6 to 12 months if needed).
There are upstairs and downstairs neighbours so we ask guests to respect their right to low noise levels. The apartment is a non-smoking apartment. We expect longer term guests to be covered by their own insurance for personal liability in case of damage or breakages to our property or also to our neighbours' property. We want you to be comfortable but we expect people to treat the apartment as they would like their own home to be treated.
Our family stayed for the month of July at the apartment and it was a perfect fit. If you are looking for a great central location near all the action of downtown, this is what you want. The apartment is on the south end of Garibaldi which means you have easy access to a nearby Metro stop and trams. After a long day of roaming the city we would stop at the local market (new with all you could want) and unwind back at the apartment.
Leitha and her house assistant Tony were always very quick to answer any questions and we felt well taken care of during our stay.
We would highly recommend the apartment to anyone looking for a nice, clean, comfortable spot in a central location.
Thank you for your hospitality Leitha.
We had a great stay at Leitha's place in Milan. The apartment is full of character, clean and well organised. Tony the house manager was very helpful.
This is a fantastic apartment located in a vibrant part of Milan. Access to lovely shops right outside the door, and many more within walking distance, was a lovely aspect of this apartment. We appreciated having information provided to us about the apartment and the neighbourhood - in addition, Leitha was available to quickly answer questions and provide advice. There were no big surprises. The neighbourhood is vibrant, so expect some street noise due to the outdoor cafes and restaurants in the evenings.
We stayed at Corso Garibaldi for over a month in November/December and found it extremely comfortable. The apartment is large, light and (important in winter) sun filled. We were pleased to find a large, well set up, eat in kitchen, with much more kitchen equipment than is usually found in a serviced apartment. The apartment would very comfortably take 5 people. The apartment is well located for all the sights, has a supermarket around the corner and an excellent 24 hour bread and fresh pasta shop about a block away. Leitha was a delight to deal with and Tony, who comes in every week to clean, was helpful and friendly.
We stayed at Garibaldi Grande for over a month. Leitha is just a great host, very attentive and helpful and she accommodated every single request through Tony, the amazing carer.
The flat is very spacious and the neighbourhood just perfect, Lots of little cafes, restaurants and shops. The supermarket is round the corner and the city center jus 10 mins walking. Overall a great stay, the flat probably needs a bit of a freshen-up but I would reccommend this accomodation to everyone.
Nice appartment, right on the Corso. Walking distance from the Scala and Duomo. Can be a little noisy at night and early in the morning (garbage trucs). Great communication with the owner.

About the Host, Leitha
I am Australian, a mother with two grown children, an Italian husband. Having lived for 25 years in Milan, we are now based in Chianti, Tuscany, in the countryside and are happy to rent out our family home and a couple of other apartments in the city to guests wishing to visit or work in Milan for a while. I love country living, having a garden, having time to write stories for children. However Milan is an exciting city with lots on offer, it's nice to visit now and then. I hope you enjoy your stay!
We have a fantastic assistant, Tony, who speaks English and will take care of you while you stay in the Garibaldi Grande, the Spazio or the Yellow apartment. However I am always on call and happy to help with inquiries etc.
In our family we can get by in quite a few languages including Portuguese, Hindi and Arabic as well as those listed! We are great travellers, although now I feel our children have taken over in that sphere.
