Nice place as long as you do not rely on the description and photographs. Does not match photographs or description . Otherwise a good place to stay. Kosygin was quick to respond to almost all problems. Wifi is weak but it is because pf frequent power cuts faced by this part of country. Food is good. Communication by host has been excellent. He was keen to help us guide for the sight seeing and gave few good tips also. If you are inclined to stay in real kerala village with reasonably good in house amenities, this is the place. However, can not survive without vehicle although rickshaws are easily available and the host can hire his bike. 7 kms from Kumarkom sanctuary and 2 kms away from Kumarkom junction road so be self sufficient otherwise nearest purchase place is about 2 kms away. Boating jetty is about 4 kms away. Enjoyed stay. If you are staying here, should be ready to be solely away from rest of the world unless you have a good internet on mobile. Yes, all mobile services work very well here including Jio. Just enjoy nature and relax

Mr. Kosygin is an exceptional host. He is very warm, welcoming and friendly. He was very happy to help us out in shopping, food suggestions, navigation and suggesting places to visit. He even helped us arrange transport. 8 members including myself had booked 2 rooms to stay for 1 night and we were very comfortable. The bedroom which included 4 beds is more spacious than it looks and can accomodate 4 adults without much trouble. The air conditioning and fans were proper. The lights were a bit dim and flickered from time to time - an issue that could be fixed. The hot water geyser also took a long time to work, however Mr. Kosygin was quick to call an electrician/mechanic to fix the problem. The place in itself is very beautiful, lush with greenery and flora. The place is secluded and one feels very detached and relaxed. There are no shops or amenities nearby and that could pose a problem in case of an emergency. The kids were very happy to be engaged with badminton, hammocks, swings and just sitting by the riverfront. Access to the place is a little difficult as the roads are very narrow but the locals who live nearby were able to easily guide us. As vegetarians, there was little choice of food for us to try out. However, the 2 cooks we were introduced to were very friendly. Upon the host's recommendation, we tried a couple of classic Kerala dishes such as 'puttu' and 'appam with coconut milk'. The dishes were well prepared. Mr Kosygin was also kind enough to arrange for 'banana roast' on our request. If you are non-vegetarians, I am certain you will have a great variety of food to choose from. Overall, my family and I were very happy and satisfied with our stay at Aqualillies. We would recommend it to anyone looking for a nice place with tranquility and peace. We are looking forward to our next stay.

The location was really good because it is a little way away from the main tourist area, which means that you get to experience a slice of the true Kumarakom local life. The host, Mr. Kosygin, is a wonderful person and extremely attentive. He made note of every request we had and ensured and we were happy and comfortable during our stay. His cook is amazing and the meals were awesome. They were a little expensive compared to the hotels we went to but it was worth every penny. We ended up having only 2 meals outside, because the food here was really really good. The cook also takes into account what your tastes are like and adjusts the spiciness accordingly. Even the transportation, an auto, arranged by the host was good. The driver was very considerate. We had a pregnant lady in our group, and I must say after the first day, we stopped worrying about the food and transportation etc. with regard to her because Mr. Kosygin and co (including the auto driver) took care to keep that in mind without us having to remind them. Sorry abiut the really long review, but these things needed to be said. All in all, this was a wonderful place to stay at and I will be recommending it to anyone who wants to go to Kumarakom.

I am a commerce graduate with FIATA. I worked with Kuwait Airways at Trivandrum and Cochin International Airport for more than a decade. My interest in tourism and passion to meet more and more people with varied culture lead me to convert my ancestral home to a homestay which is rich in greenery.

Aqualillies is approved by the Kerala Government Tourism Department. It is located in 1.5 acres of land with water view, a big canal from Vembanad lake flows in front of the house.

I belong to an ancient aristocratic syrian christian Orthodox family -Oruvettithara . My ancestors were Land Lords who earned a comfortable living through agriculture -Paddy and coconut farming. My father, O.A Andrews is a noted agriculturist in Kumarakom. I am married with 3 children (John,Jacob and Peter). My Wife Binjoo Mathen is working with a reputed builder and i am staying at my homestay to make the guests feel at home.
