The apartment is located in a residential area in the center. It is quiet and cozy and has everything you need for a pleasant staying in Reykjavik. The buses stop right next to it and every thing else is with in 10 min walking distance.
This flat is the ideal place for your stay in Reykjavík.
It is very well located in a quiet street in center of town in just ten minutes you can visit most of the downtown attractions.
Right around the corner (less than 30 sec walk) there is a bus stop which you can use for the flybus or excursion pickup & drop off and the central bus station is just 10 min, walking distance plus there is always a free parking in the street in front of the house.
The flat has two rooms (a living and dining area with sofa bed and a bedroom with king size bed that can be split in two single bed) a fully equipped kitchenette, bathroom with tub, shower and a washer, plus a high speed internet access and a cable TV.
It is suitable for up to 4 people. I do not charge extra fee for children or teenagers.
Down the street there is a little supermarket (1 min walk) and close by (5 min) there is a 24h market, a hamburger joint just accross the street, take away pizza and thai food restaurants plus various other restaurants and bars, and just right across the street is one of Reykjavik's renowned swimming pool.
In just few minutes you can visit the Reykjavik Art museum, go to Hallgrimskirkja church or walk down Laugavegurinn the main shopping street which is also home to many bars, nightclubs and restaurants, or you can take a stroll alongside the sea shore and gaze at the view over the bay.
The check in and check out time is flexible, when possible. The minimum stay is eight nights, but please contact me for availability.
Guests have access to free wifi, cable TV, washing machine and a fully equipped kitchenette.
Interaction with Guests
I´m always available for chats and advices and I do enjoy a good conversation with my guests, but I'm also very respectful of your privacy.
I love my neighborhood because it is quiet but yet close to the nightlife, bars and restaurants, and all the mayor sites of the Center. We also have our "own" swimming pool across the street and a very nice public park just down the (email hidden) Reykjavik art museum.
The flybus stops just around the corner (less than 30 sec walk) and the city buses central station is with in 5 min walk, and the BSI bus central is 10 min away, plus there is plenty of free parking in my street.
Other Things to Note
My neighborhood is one of the first in Reykjavik to be planed and designed by the authorities it was built around 1935 and has strong funkis characteristics, I enjoy very much taking short walks around it and sense the past.
Please do not smoke in the apartment, and I appreciate that you take good care of it and leave it the way you found it.
We had a lovely, week-long stay at Ragga's place. It was comfortable and just what we needed to self-cater in Reykjavik.
We particularly loved the bath and the seemingly endless hot water provided. Everything you need in terms of kitchen equipment was provided (even some leftover food - in its packaging) and there were even some books by Icelandic authors and magazines and brochures with tips of what to do during our stay.
The wifi worked perfectly.
The only things that bothered us a bit were that the kitchen area around the fridge was a tiny bit small for two people sitting on either side of the table, because then one person gets in the way of the fridge, so it's best to have both people sitting on the same side (but that's not always practical!). Also, the TV didn't always work (even after we were provided with what we needed for it), but who goes to Iceland to watch TV anyway?
Overall we had a great time, it was the perfect location for going on tours and for walking downtown, visiting Hallgrímskirkja and also for going to the lovely geothermal pool Laugardalslaug. Highly recommended!
Ragnhildur and her husband were both very welcoming and greeted us when we got there. The apartment is in a good location to explore Reykjavik and has a kitchen with all that you'd need to make your own food there. We were very happy with our stay.
Ragnhildur was also very quick to reply with any questions we had and provided us with helpful tips for car rental, etc.
Ragga's apartment was such a pleasant accommodation for our short stay in Reykjavik! We arrived a bit earlier than planned but Hermann was around to let us in. Everything was clean and looked well-taken care off. Parking out front was very convenient, and the walk into the center of Reykjavik was very easy. I'd definitely stay with Ragga again next time I am in Iceland!
We had a wonderful time in Iceland - and these accommodations added to our enjoyment. The location was superb with shopping nearby, convenient pickup for tours, and even a public pool. The apartment had everything we needed to be a base for exploring the city and countryside, including a well stocked kitchen and a washer. Ragga was so accommodating to allow us to drop our suitcases off early on the day of our arrival. Thank you so much for the kind hospitality.
Great place to stay. Located close to many shops and restaurants. The place was big and clean.

I'm a well travelled open minded and easy going person. In my experience one of the most important thing for a traveller is a good night sleep and for that you need clean rooms and good beds. We have that plus a great location. I'm also a qualified Icelandic tour guide, with 14 years of experience in the field and happy to assist you in any way possible before and during your stay in Reykjavík.
