This is a two levels loft, located on the island of Lipari, Sicily, Italy. Its strategic location just few steps from the Old Harbour benefits of all main facilities, transportation, shops and pubs, all located within walking distance. Sun, sea, all water sports and nightlife will be at your hand, and you will also not need a car. You will be living in a mew, in the city centre, therefore when the windows and blinds will be open, it might be sometimes a bit noisy, although only during the daytime. There is a double bed at the first floor, and a bathroom. At the lower level there is a sofabed with a double bed in the living room with two extra places, which are available only in exceptional circumstances, as the place is for two peoples only, and a small kitchen with everything you need.
I would suggest this destination from April to September, when you will enjoy the best local climate. From the beginning of July to end of August, the temperature might be very hot, since this group of islands is located approximately at the same latitude as the northern part of Morocco. During the two central weeks of August, The island usually also become a bit crowded. It is a rather popular destination until the local celebration of S.Bartolo, which falls each year on the 24th of August.
The Island of Lipari is located approx 20 nautical miles North of Sicily shore, in the Aeolian group of islands. This group of 7 little islands offers to tourists a variety of fun and relax possibilities. You will find detailed information on the web and on several Tourist guides.
The most convenient and fast way to get there is by plane to Catania, Sicily, or to Reggio di Calabria, on the mainland. Then you may use a bus service from the airport to the Milazzo harbour and from there you will reach the island in about 1 hour with the hydrofoil or 3 hour with the ship. Among the air carriers, Blue Panorama, Alitalia and Easyjet fly to Catania and to Reggio Calabria from Rome and Milan.
The property is small and very simple, furnished with the basic stuff only. It is located in a mew in the centre of the village, just steps from the old harbour, used mainly by tourists and local fishermen. It falls within the Congestion Charge area, so if you rent a car, you will not be allowed to park it close to the flat. For this reason I would rather suggest renting a scooter.
The roads on the island are rather few and primitive. In my view, the best option is to rent a small boat, because the best beaches on the island are reachable from the sea only. There are plenty of boat rentals on the island.
Please note the fridge in the photos is unfortunately currently inder repair. Therefore it has temporarily replaced with a mid-size one.
Hi my name is Manuel.
I have a partner, and I am frequently away for my airline pilot job, I do not have regular hours and luckily I have friends spread all over the world.
I would be very happy to know new people, with only two conditions: they are not troublemakers and the let me sleep when I am back home knackered from work.
Apart of this, I am very friendly and easy going.
