About this listing
Hi, my home is a 15 minute walk from Downtown Vancouver and a 10 minute walk from 2 nearby commuter trains to get you to/from the airport or several downtown stops.
Your bright 2nd floor room room has a queen sized Serta in pine bed frame with a matching pine wardrobe for your clothes. You have your own bathroom and access to second bathroom shower.
Amenities: wireless internet, antique desk in your room, living room has massive TV projector and sound system for a great movie watching experience! You are welcome to the kitchen and Sunday mornings I make guests pancakes(homemade and darn good!) I have pretty well all the basics for cooking if you like eating in.
Running/biking trails are just 5 minutes away and you can ride, roll or run right to our famous Stanley Park or the aquarium! Very cool Mt Pleasant neighborhood loaded with funky reasonably restaurants and pubs for the carnivore or vegetarian!
If you are a paraglider, I'm happy to escort you to the local training hill or lower mainland area launches if I am going flying.
Great location close to downtown and transportation("Car-to-go" is in the hood too!). I think you'll like my place!
An upcoming neighborhood for unique shops, eating, history and proximity to recreation trails. Two community fitness centres within walking distance. Also, 3 new microbreweries very close to me for beer lovers to try and at least 4 more within a half hours walk too!
Yes, use Translink website for easy bus planning.
No guests, late night movies okay, just switch from home theatre to projector speakers. Same goes for chatting, just keep it low after midnight. Bring your own beer/wine/spirits(although I'll likely share mine anyways!).
You have your own bathroom but the shower is upstairs in second bathroom. Get yourself all squeaky clean whenever you like, just do your powdering in your bathroom to keep the second one available to me or your second person.
Wash your dishes, I have a dishwasher for larger loads but prefer handwashing to cut down on water and waste.
No shoes in the house.
Kindly do a full laundry load rather than run the machines everyday.
Ask if you don't know.
We did not get to meet Wil, who was not in town, but self-check-in instructions were very clear and everything went very smoothly. Wil has been very kind in letting us forward something to his address while on the road, what we appreciated a lot.
The room is exactly as described in Wil's listing and in the other reviews and we enjoyed the location very much: the neighborhood is very quiet, while in walking distance of a few cafes, breweries, and all the new developments around False Creek to the north and services in Broadway to the south. The weather in Vancouver was great during our stay, and we enjoyed very much walking around and over to Downtown, what does not take that long. Transit options are close and plentiful, and for those who'll have a car (we did not) parking should not be a problem around the place.
All in all, this is a nice base to explore Vancouver and we recommend it.
We had a nice short stay at Wil's place. It was easy to find and just a 7 minute walk away from the harbor. Ask Wil about his experiences in the rockies! He seems to be a real adventurer!
The unit is very nice and completely clean . The room itself is small and we had a lot of luggage. Thankfully we were able to spread out. Yhere is a home theatre which we enjoyed.
Wil seemed surprised when we showed up and 2 days later when another showed up having booked into the same room through roomarama it became apparent that he had gotten the bookings completely confused. The Japanese lady was fresh off a flight from japan and very disappointed. She has a confirmation email from Wil when we were still in our room so he seemed confused about when we were leaving!
Wil set up another room for her and tried to fix things up but it was a day after she had already gotten new accommodations.
The location was very central and we thorough enjoyed our stay do it is a pity that the other person was displaced.
I would definitely stay again but I would double and triple checkbook make sure Wil knew we were coming.
We spent 10 days at Wil's place and enjoyed the time very much! He is a great host, always helpful when you need him and giving you privicy at the same time. On top of this he can give you great recommendations for local restaurants and breweries.
The bedroom is cosy and calm, you can even sleep with a open window.
The appartement is well located, so that you are quick at the next skytrain station to downtown or you can walk in 5 min to lively Main Drive.
The location is good, it's about 15 minutes walk to metro, whole food market and restaurants. Also it's just 3-4 station to downtown and waterfront.
Wil's place was great , the location is very convenient , close to the train station , restaurants , bus stop and coffee shops , we had a great time in Vancouver.
About the Host, Wil
Hi, I'm a self employed outdoors kind of guy. Easy going and a dandy sense of humor too! I'm busy but work for myself to try to get more time for myself rather than trying to get rich. All in all, I'm good company, especially in the summer if you paraglide, hike or even camp as I enjoy playing with like minded pals!
That's me[kinda sorta]
