Hi, my home is a 15 minute walk from Downtown Vancouver and a 10 minute walk from 2 nearby commuter trains to get you to/from the airport or several downtown stops.
Your bright 2nd floor room room has a queen sized Serta in pine bed frame with a matching pine wardrobe for your clothes. You have your own bathroom and access to second bathroom shower.
Amenities: wireless internet, antique desk in your room, living room has massive TV projector and sound system for a great movie watching experience! You are welcome to the kitchen and Sunday mornings I make guests pancakes(homemade and darn good!) I have pretty well all the basics for cooking if you like eating in.
Running/biking trails are just 5 minutes away and you can ride, roll or run right to our famous Stanley Park or the aquarium! Very cool Mt Pleasant neighborhood loaded with funky reasonably restaurants and pubs for the carnivore or vegetarian!
If you are a paraglider, I'm happy to escort you to the local training hill or lower mainland area launches if I am going flying.
Great location close to downtown and transportation("Car-to-go" is in the hood too!). I think you'll like my place!
I had a last minute stop in Vancouver for a night when I couldn't get a train home until the next day. I spent very little time at Wil's but didn't need anything more than a bed and bathroom anyway :-).
Wil was a kind host. I tend to be a bit introverted and he let me be my recluse self. He provided directions to the train station and various options for food and ideas for how to spend my afternoon.
The room was nice and clean as you would expect for a room rental but the rest of the home was probably more similar to what you would find your average home to be like. Not a big deal, just a heads up.
This is a fine room to stay in and is reasonably affordable. The train station is close and his home is near the Olympic Village. It was an $11 cab ride from downtown Vancouver to his home.
Everything was as Wil said it would be. Even the wine and Sunday morning pancakes! Wil shared some stories, fun facts about the area, fresh coriander, beer, and even some personal pan pizza he cooked up the day I arrived. It was a very accommodating and pleasant stay. Thanks!
Oh and he does mention there would be a personal space heater to use, and there was, but you don't even need it. That blanket is incredibly warm!
Wil is a very welcoming host. He is passionate to show his city and helps me open up a different viewpoint of Vancouver. His room is cozy, comfortable and secure. I highly recommend.
Wil was a great host, very welcoming and helpful with all our questions about the city. The apartment is very clean, and the kitchen was fully equipped for all our cooking needs. The bedroom was comfortable and the living room is a great space for movies on the big screen! Thanks for having us and hope to see you around Wil!
It was a great place to stay, both location wise and Will is a great guy to deal with. Highly recommend , hope to come back again.
The room is good and you can use kitchen and laundry, also it is very close to public transportation. And in case you have a car , enough place to park.
Wil was very accommodating from the start, willing to provide extra sheets and blankets as we needed. We also had the privilege of having the place to ourselves when he left for the weekend. Access was simple and everything was ready when we arrived.
Wil is a charming guy who will do anything to assist. We had a comfortable stay and his house is close to train, busses, restaurant strip and the Olympic Village area. Very convenient.Wil was very helpful with travel arrangements.
Wil is super easy going and was always great at replying to my erratic messages while I was traveling around BC. The room was cozy and very conveniently located within 10 min. of the Skytrain to downtown. Be sure to ask him about paragliding as he's got some pretty crazy stories. Thanks Wil!
Wil was awesome! So kind and welcoming. He was my first AirBnB host, and I'll definitely do this again. The huge bed was incredibly comfortable and clean. He provided towels, a private bathroom, and even wine! Seriously...why stay at hotels anymore?
Will has a nice apartment and the accommodations were above average. The bedroom is on the smaller side but very cozy and big enough for two people staying for two nights. Bed was comfortable with nice linens. We only had two interactions with will during our weekend stay, which was fine. In both interactions Wil was friendly and reiterated that we could use whatever we liked in the kitchen and main living room. I can't report on the "Sunday pancake breakfast" in his description because didn't see him Sunday AM. This could have just been because we left the apartment at 9:30am or because we didn't request the breakfast. Either way we planned to go out for food anyways. Most of our time was spent out of the apartment in the city so we didn't take advantage of the kitchen or tv room but we did watch a bit of Netflix on our bedroom tv at night, which is a nice perk. The best feature of Wil's place is it's proximity to other neighborhoods. It's a 5-10 minute drive to basically all of Vancouver (at least the part we experienced) and it's really close to a ton of great restaurants. Considering all factors including the price I think staying at Wil's place is a very solid deal for a Vancouver weekend. Hope this helps!
