Vi havde det herligt! Alt var lige så fint som beskrevet, og mere til. Især elskede vi jeres cykler! Tak for et par dejlige alt for korte dage! Vi håber, vi kan vende tilbage en anden (website hidden). Mette og Emilie
Stephen & Helga have been the nicest hosts. Their really lovely place is in a quiet residential area just far enough outside of otherwise bustling Venice yet close enough to for example one of the biggest Whole Foods markets we had ever seen. This comes in very handy in combination with the kitchen that let us have a break from outside food for a couple of days. Also handy are the bikes and the patio that is perfect for breakfast outside and chilling out in the evening.
Highly recommend, thanks again!
My wife and I stayed here for a week. We absolutely loved it! The area you are in is top notch and is just a short bike ride to the beach (bikes included in the stay!). There is a Whole Foods just down the road in case you want to do some light grocery shopping while in town.
The backyard is beautiful, the porch is fantastic to sit at for a quick bite of food and we appreciated the fact that we had a rear entrance to the place so we wouldn't bother anyone staying in the main home!
All in all, this place is highly recommended! We loved it and will be back whenever we get back to the LA area :)
The place is exactly as described. A comfortable refuge from busy LA.
Handy for Santa Monica central and the Pier (within about 2 miles).
We were made welcome on arrival and our hosts remained gracious and unobtrusive.
The area is quiet at night time and the bed was comfortable.
We enjoyed our stay and as visitors from England it was nice to see that a kettle was provided, as well as a coffee maker and a toaster.
The whole foods market at the end of the road (about a mile) meant that we were able to get some really nice foods to eat in as a change from constantly eating out - again rather nice for visitors from England.
Stephen and Helga's cottage in Santa Monica was the perfect place to decompress. It was clean, quiet, cute, and comfy. The outdoor seating area with beautiful gardens was perfect for reading, lounging, watching hummingbirds and dining. The area is close to many great restaurants, not far from the beach and easily accessible. The kitchen was well appointed and the Venice Whole Food is close by for shopping. Stephen and Helga were friendly, helpful, and non intrusive. Just the perfect balance. Lovely place. We want to come back!
It was a right decision to stay at Bacchetti's place. It made us feel local with its silent neighborhood, charming garden, bikes that they gave us to ride to the Venice beach. I will definitely recommend my friends to stay here.
Extra note: No problem with parking on the street.
