The place is exactly as described. A comfortable refuge from busy LA.
Handy for Santa Monica central and the Pier (within about 2 miles).
We were made welcome on arrival and our hosts remained gracious and unobtrusive.
The area is quiet at night time and the bed was comfortable.
We enjoyed our stay and as visitors from England it was nice to see that a kettle was provided, as well as a coffee maker and a toaster.
The whole foods market at the end of the road (about a mile) meant that we were able to get some really nice foods to eat in as a change from constantly eating out - again rather nice for visitors from England.
Stephen and Helga's cottage in Santa Monica was the perfect place to decompress. It was clean, quiet, cute, and comfy. The outdoor seating area with beautiful gardens was perfect for reading, lounging, watching hummingbirds and dining. The area is close to many great restaurants, not far from the beach and easily accessible. The kitchen was well appointed and the Venice Whole Food is close by for shopping. Stephen and Helga were friendly, helpful, and non intrusive. Just the perfect balance. Lovely place. We want to come back!
It was a right decision to stay at Bacchetti's place. It made us feel local with its silent neighborhood, charming garden, bikes that they gave us to ride to the Venice beach. I will definitely recommend my friends to stay here.
Extra note: No problem with parking on the street.
Enjoyed 2 relaxing nights. Helga and Stephen were fantastic hosts. They have thought of everything from beer, drinks, tea & coffee and various other condiments. We enjoyed the use of their bikes and rode to Venice beach and Santa Monica pier. A visit to whole foods supermarket is a must - a culinary experience. Thank you Helga and Stephen.
Stephen was very pleasant, quite accommodating with our 'unpredictable' ETA, we appreciated that very much. The guest house is nice with good facilities and a lovely garden.
Just a bit of an issue with the slippery bathroom floor. Also a bit of a safety issue with the bathroom floor being raised compared to the studio floor. Other than that, it's a very good location, quite handy to the interesting places in LA and yet has the feeling of a quiet suburban neighborhood.
The area at the side of the Guest House is the Carport. You may not have noticed the big wood sliding door at the back of this area that led to the Alley. You just had to slide the door over and pull your car in. You would have to move the table and sitting chairs at the side more forward to the wood deck portion so that the car could fit.
No one has complained about the Bathroom floor before. Thanks for letting me know, however I wish you would have told me directly. I'll see what I can do about it.
My daughter and I stayed at the Bacchetti home for two nights. Stephen greeted us and spent a lot of time showing us around. The guest house is great. It is furnished nicely and has a small stove, full sized refrigerator and a great patio/deck. The home is centrally located (2 miles from Venice beach) which was perfect.
Highly recommend....you won't be dissappointed.
