Great place to stay and the hosts were not only friendly but seemed to have thought of everything in setting up the cottage. It's a nice area to walk around in, as well. We would definitely stay here again.

Helga and Steve are very nice people and we had a great time staying with them. We would definitly stay with them again if we are in LA!! The location is great, You can cycle to the beach in just 10 minutes. The place is very clean and you have everything you need. A little paradise in LA!!
Stephen and his guest house where delightful.
I will stay there again when the opportunity arises.
We had a wonderful 5 night stay at Stephens and Helgas cottage. It's perfectly situated for pretty much anywhere in L.A. and we loved the wholefoods just down the road where we bought our breakfast. There is a lovely terrace where you can bask in the morning sun while eating your breakfast. Clean and user friendly and owned by a very friendly and helpful couple who even had a bottle of bubbly waiting for us to celebrate our honeymoon. Book ahead, this place gets full quickly for a reason.
We spent 4 nights at Stephen and Helga's guesthouse as part of our honeymoon. It was perfect. Bright, airy, the most comfortable bed and secluded. But best of all were the hosts. They were absolutely wonderful. Provided all the essentials for our first breakfast, provided a bottle of champagne, and available when needed. Thank you for such a lovely stay. Made our honeymoon memorable!
Our extended weekend stay at Stephen's Guest House in Santa Monica was wonderful. Upon our arrival Stephen and Helga greeted us and made sure we knew where everything was. The location is great and we had lots of privacy (they live in the main house, the guest house is in the back yard up some steps).
Also microwave and coffee pot available to use. Great for a little morning breakfast out on the deck. And unfortunately we did not get to take the bikes out to the pier during our stay, but maybe next time!
The location is just perfect for us. 5 minutes from family on the outskirts of Santa Monica. Helga and Stephen and really nice hosts. And they think of the amenities that will make the stay really pleasant. I recommend their place!
Me and my son spent almost a week in Stevens and Helgas guesthouse. This is a perfect place to get back to after exploring L.A. They are great hosts and they offered us soft drinks and beers when we arrived, very appreciated. We are still in California staying in a hotel and we really miss the guesthouse and our host couple.
I would definitely go there again and will give my best recommendations to our very nice hosts Steven and Helga.

Steve and Helga's Guest House in Santa Monica was the perfect place to come on a mother-daughter trip to LA. This was my mother's first time using airbnb and this place did not disappoint. It was clean, private, with a small kitchen with a fridge, and laundry facilities. There were even a few items stocked in the fridge and we were able to have a quick breakfast and coffee at the Guesthouse the next morning without having to rush to the store. There were bikes, but the beach was so close we ended up jogging there in less than 20 minutes. We rented a car and did a lot of sightseeing...it was always great to come back to the Guesthouse at the end of the day, and grab some food to go from the Whole Foods down the street. Steve and Helga were charming and lovely. This was a fantastic experience all around!
My husband and I had a lovely 10 days’ stay at Steve and Helga’s Guest House - it was absolutely perfect and made our stay in LA even more enjoyable. We highly recommend staying here.
The Guest House is exactly as previous reviewers have commented on: gorgeous, very comfortable, comfy bed, very clean, great shower, light and airy, fast wifi, HD TV, etc. The studio is spacious and there is ample storage for your clothes. The veranda area opens your living space even more. You have privacy too as you are higher up.
On arrival Steve showed us all around and made us feel comfortable immediately. The cupboards and fridge were stocked with a lot more than we expected so we didn’t have to rush out to the supermarket as soon as we got there.
The Guest House is so well equipped, there isn’t anything else you need at all – but Steve still said to let him know if anything was lacking, which it wasn’t. The washing machine was a bonus for a long stay.
To all new Airbnb guests, this was our first Airbnb experience and we were very impressed with Airbnb’s organisation.
Steve and Helga are the nicest people and we’re so glad we booked the Guest House instead of a hotel room. Would definitely book it again.
