We stayed for 2 nights in this apartment. We arranged for overnight parking prior to our arrival (note it's 20/day and you need to provide credit card details. We later found that it's undergound parking for Embassy Suites hotel next door). Mirna, Hakim's assistant that we mainly communicated with, told us that we will be given 2 access cards - 1 to enter the garage and 1 to access the elevator that will take us from the garage straight to the apartment. But when we checked in to the apartment, both cards were not there. We called, texted and emailed but we couldn't reach the contact number given (which is Mirna's by the way). After waiting for about an hour, a man showed up and gave us 1 card. Between worrying about leaving the car on the street and annoyed that one entire hour has been wasted, we forgot to ask about the other card. So we had to always make a detour from Embassy Suites hotel. Anyway, the whole experience was quite frustrating especially when time was so precious to us tourists.
As for the apartment itself, the pictures here were probably taken some time back. The apartment is quite worn out now. Carpet is old and heavily stained. Floor and furnitures were dusty. There were no towels prepared. We accidentally found the towels in the (website hidden) didn't work, the remote control didn't have batteries. Kitchen, washer & dryer functioned okay. Location is very close to Old Quarter. But I suggest you consider the Plateau area as well - beautiful quaint streets with lots of dining options there. Overall, our stay wasn't amazing.
The apartment was great but the layout was different than the pictures. The location is very central and it's extremely close to the subway station. The apartment I stayed in was on the 20th floor, so there was plenty of light. I didn't use it but the kitchen equipment was good and there was also a dishwasher and washing machine in the apt, which was a plus. Definitely would recommend for a single traveler or a couple who's looking for a small, central and comfortable place to stay in Montreal. Also, Hakim is a great host, check-in and check-out is super easy, and he always responds quickly and tries to help you any way he can.
