This Studio condo is located 1 block from the beach in Waikiki and has been recently remodeled. The new kitchen cabinets, sink, stove and full refrigerator will compliment your dining-in pleasures. Dining outside is a snap with a bistro set placed on the balcony. The unit sleeps two and faces the mountains which brings nice cool breezes into your room day and night while the "fresh look" tile flooring will feel good under your bare feet. Storage is not a problem with ample closet, cabinet space including ottoman. Equipped with a 38" wall-mounted widescreen LCD TV, you will easily enjoy all your cable programming needs.
Also on the property is a large self-service laundromat, Blue Hawaii Internet café (internet work stations, fax, scan, printing), convenience store, surf rental shop, activity desk. Parking is available for $16/day. The property is located just 1 short block from the world's most famous beach, where you can take in surfing, stand-up paddling, canoe surfing, body boarding, snorkel, catamaran rides or just sun bathe. Popular surf spots in front of the building include Publics, Queens Surf, Canoes, Pops and 3's. This is where everyone wants to be!
The nearby neighborhood includes popular Hy's Steak House, several major hotels and numerous large and small restaurants that cater to every nationality. A few blocks away you will find famous Kapiolani park and the Waikiki Shell, Honolulu Zoo, Waikiki Aquarium, Diamond Head, golfing and many tennis courts. Watch the sunsets from nearly any vantage point along the beach and see the Friday night fireworks from the Hilton Village. Bring your camera.
Transportation is readily available. Bus stops are located in front of the property, and you can circle the island from your back yard. Rental cars are not really necessary unless you want to spend a lot of time at a certain destination. Ala Moana Center and Convention Center are about 1 mile away, ride the bus or one of the many open air trolleys.
Come stay at Kuhio Village and pay a fraction of what nearby rooms command.

Roger made our stay nice and easy. This unit served our needs perfectly. It was definitely small but it's described as a studio, so that shouldn't be a surprise. The room was clean but nothing special--just a bed, simple but functional kitchen, and bathroom. The balcony didn't have much of a view but if you're in Waikiki, you're probably not going to spend much time in your accommodations anyway and it's a perfect location to get to the beach! I'd want something a little fancier if I were travelling for a romantic getaway but this was a perfect spot for a couple guys who just needed a place to call home while we explored the rest of the island. Check in & check out were extremely simple.
The apartment was close to everything, clean and comfortable. I especially liked having a balcony for this price.
Location is good for access to Waikiki and public transportation. The unit has an updated kitchen area, but the unit itself is not "new" as the title implies- the building is quite old and has issues with electricity, plumbing, and security. There was supposed to be a security guard in the lobby, however during our 3 day stay, we never saw a security guard there. We did observe transients sleeping in the lobby and there was no concierge service, and the ABC store there was not a good one.
The unit itself is very small- barely enough room to walk around the bed and tight quarters for 2 people. Mattress is comfortable. The cost would have been acceptable, but a cleaning fee of $100 was added on for our 3 day stay, and that made the cost too high compared to similar units in the area.
When we arrived, both elevators were out of service and stairways were locked, so we could not get to the 8th floor. The on site managers office was closed, so we called Roger. He was nice but there was not much he could do for us. He said they had to keep the stairways locked to keep transients from sleeping there. After a short time, one of the 2 elevators was working again and we could go up. Roger called back to make sure we had gotten in. The 2nd elevator continued to be out of service the entire time we were there.
Underground parking costs $20/day, not $16 as it says in the posting.
Our conclusion was that this was a small but adequate unit in an older building with much deferred maintenance and some security problems. We would not stay here again.
The location was ideal. We were a block away from shops and the infamous Waikiki beach. It can get crowded so we preferred to venture out of the area to spend the time. The room was a bit smaller than it seems but worked perfectly for our stay. We took advantage of the kitchenette to save a few bucks on a meal and were basically only there to rest and reload. Parking was a bit expensive each night so most of the time we took a little time to find street parking for free but pay attention to the signs! I would definitely book again!

Without a doubt the selling feature of this apartment is it's excellent location for an extremely reasonable price - a 2 minute walk to Waikiki at a fraction of what the big hotels next door are charging. This was my first airbnb experience so I was a little unsure but Roger was always prompt to answer any questions. The room was clean and cosy for two but ideal if you are a couple who want to go to hawaii to sightsee and lay on the beach - not in your condo. Having the well equipped kitchen was excellent - and of course as a female the hairdryer and lights around the mirror were an appreciated touch :) A few minor things like the bathmat could do with a replacement but overall this apartment was just what we needed! Had a great time and it really was so ideally situated for the beach, groceries, amazing shopping and half a block away from the bus that will take you all around the island if you so desire. The money we saved on accommodation meant we could spend more on all the fun things Waikiki has to offer! I cannot stress enough how accommodating Roger was with check in and check out (which was a breeze thanks to a lock box) which we were very appreciative of. If we go back to Waikiki (fingers crossed) I will most certainly re-book either this apartment or one of Rogers other listings.

It was a nice and clean place just perfect for a little vacation. The real nice part was the kitchen, loved that. I'm happy with Roger, real nice guy easy to reach if you need anything.
Studio as described, will meet your basic needs and offers excellent location. We checked in and out without issues, the only minor details were the lack of constant hot water in the shower and noisy waste disposal trucks every morning. We would however book the studio again on a future trip.
This was a nice tidy little unit! Little bit tight but for the time you are there it is more than what you need!
