My time in Melbourne had been wonderful and my stay at Alice's designer studio apartment added to that. The location was great with tram and train stops very close by (Alice even gave us Myki travel passes to borrow), convenience just around the corner with supermarkets, restaurants and cafes, warm, spatious and funky interior, alot of amenities for convenience and Alice was always quick with responding and attending to any questions for support.
I would highly recommend this property to get the most of Melbourne with comfort and style.
This is a great spot, and even if you're not a particularly cool trendy hipster type you'll feel like you are when you stay there! Right by the tram stop to the city - but also plenty of local cafes and restaurants right nearby. (We found that the popular ones were all booked out the night we strolled up the street looking for eats. Would be wise to book your choice of restaurant a few days out.) Alice was great, and very flexible about our checkout time, which was helpful as we had an afternoon flight. The accommodation was basic in some ways, but comfortable and surprisingly warm for such a big space. As promised, all the artists-in-residence next door were friendly and helpful. One even printed our boarding passes on the studio printer :-)
We would certainly come back and stay again!
Our stay at the Warehouse has been absolutely amazing and we enjoyed every single details of the Warehouse that she has installed to wow us. Alice is very friendly and personable, she is helpful and attend to the queries quickly so there are no hassles in checking in/out of the apartment. The apartment is very artistic and The set up is perfect for us three. The accessibility to public transport is second to none. The location is perfect. Quite simply, staying here was the best experience in Melbourne for us. Thank you Alice!
Great apartment with lots of space and close to the CBD. Handy being able to park directly outside and was also very close to the tram, supermarket and cafes. A bit noisy outside, late into the night on the Friday night, but probably to be expected in the inner-city.
I absolutely loved Alice's place. Neither the photos nor the reviews do it justice. It's beautiful and quirky in the most artsy, chic way. I want to live there. You do walk through the art studio to get to it, which I quite liked. It's a good vibe and I would absolutely stay again if Alice would have me! She's lovely, and puts in the effort to leave many beautiful little touches around the apartment. The area is great as well, close to the train and just off Swan street where there are cafes, restaurants, shopping, etc. (Tip: try Botherambo on Swan, amazing food and great vibe.)
we were delayed and it was cold but Alice was still bright and cheerful, a good start followed by an interesting stay- eg adjoining artist studio. Imaginative and quixotic touches in the spacious apartment appreciated, loved it. Can be city noisy but you are smack in Richmond - go out and join the revellers.
Final thanks to Alice for assistance with a forgotton item when we left, cheers, pam and ian
Alice's loft is very spacious, comfortable, and fun. The neighborhood is very convenient, with good coffee, restaurants, groceries, and the train station within a 5 minute walk. Alice and some artists work in the space next to the loft. They are friendly and willing to make recommendations if you need.
The loft *is* next to the train tracks. It didn't bother us, but it might be disruptive for kids.
About the Host, Alice
Hi my name's Alice. I run an art studio and work at a couple of shops around town. I've set up this apartment for rent so that I can afford to stay in other Airbnb accommodation as I travel.
