Large cottage style house with sea view, rolling hills, beautiful garden on a quiet country road. Two double guest rooms to let during Spring & entire house (three double rooms) to let for July & August. It is just a 1km walk to Clonakilty town, which has restaurants and lively pubs and is well known for live music sessions. Helen is a gifted hostess. She is very welcoming, immediately puts her guests at ease, and is very helpful and thoughtful in suggesting ways for her guests to enjoy their time in Clonakilty.
There is lots to see and do there. The landscape is wonderful, particularly the beach and the bay which is teeming with bird life .
The views are truly spectacular .
We will certainly return as soon as time permits and Helen' s house is so comfortable and homely there is no need to consider any other.
A beautiful home and an amazing hostess. Can't wait for an opportunity to return. This was a home from home experience. Thanks Helen.
Helens cottage is really nice, spacious, quiet. Out of Clonakilty. The room was very spacious and comfortable. I slept wonderful. From here you can make nice trips along the coast, seeing different beaches and relax.
I can highly recommended to choose Helen’s house for a stay in this area.
I felt very comfortable.
All the best Helen
Helen was a fantastic host and her home is absolutely beautiful, homely and spotlessly clean. We had her en suite room which has amazing views across the countryside. Breakfast was prepared each morning with plenty of choice. Helen was perfect and we felt completely at home with her. She knows the area really well and recommended places to eat, visit and see. The location is very quiet and a 15 minute walk into Clonakilty. There is lots of local information provided in her room along with maps and reading material.
To sum up, we would have no hesitation in staying with Helen again, she is charming, just like her home.
Helen was so nice and a gracious host! Her house is beautiful and she helped us feel right at home. She built us a fire, showed us where food, coffee and tea were for the morning and was helpful in helping us explore Clonakilty. She had loads of great recommendations and it was a pleasure talking with her! We explored neighboring Baltimore and Skibbereen and had a fabulous time! The room was really nice and we felt so relaxed staying in her home during our stay in Ireland. We would definitely stay here again if we found ourselves in Cork.
Helen has a lovely cottage in a beautiful rural setting just outside Clonakilty. We only had one night but enjoyed our stay immensely. Helen was a wonderful host and very generous with her time with suggestions etc. She even drove us into town. We would highly recommend her cottage.
Helen was very welcoming and accommodating. She was friendly and helpful. The house was lovely and clean and neat with plenty of room and we were very kindly welcomed into all areas of the house. The cottage was conveniently located a little bit out of the town so we felt we were in the country but were just a walk from the town. Helen recommended a great restaurant and some fabulous entertainment in the town. We really enjoyed our stay.
I dabble in photography, paint when I have time and travel as much as I can. My place would ideal for anyone travelling on their own or a couple, looking for a nice home away from home. My house has a large garden, you get a glimpse of the sea from a distance. It's near Clonakilty town but tucked away on a hillside.
Happiness is not a destination it is a way of life !
