Private Cozy Room 25m2 Cihangir

Apartment - Private room · Güneşli Sk, Istanbul, Istanbul 34440, Turkey

The Space

I've been living in this flat for more than two years. There are two extra big rooms, and i'm so happy to share the flat with my guest.

The building is so nice. You'll love the high ceilings, and wood parquet which is older then my age :)

Cihangir is one the coolest place in Istanbul. There are a lot of people who came from different cities all around the world living in Cihangir. There are lots cafes, restaurants, and cihangir square is a 7/24 place. Also cihangir is a pet friendly location.

There is a park just next to the building. When you need a peaceful time, it's a great choice to go to the park and having your book, or just stay there. I love it.

It'll take 15 minutes to go to Taksim Square on foot, so it's very close to the center of Istanbul. When you come to Taksim Square you'll see different public transportation opportunities to go to anywhere in Istanbul.

In my opinion, these are the reasons to choose this private room:
Lovely, and quiet neighborhood
So close to Taksim Square, and Beyoglu
Old style building
Smooth decoration
Living Like a Local

Please don't worry about how to reach the flat. I suggest you take the shuttle from airport. It will take you to Taksim Square (Taksim is the last stop of the shuttle), and I'll meet you there. It'll take 10-15 minutes to come to flat on foot.

If you have questions please let me know, I'll do my best.

  • It's no small thing to find yourself a spacious, comfortable, and rather tranquil base camp, smack in the middle of a great neighborhood. After spending a few nights in the more touristy (and crowded) Sultanahmet, I loved being in Cihangir for most of my time in Istanbul. The area has a relaxed vibe and you'll find some great cafes, bars, and restaurants literally right around the corner—and if you want more action the bustling Istiklal avenue is just a few steps further. (Not to mention that most other parts of the city are easily accessible from there on foot or by public transit.) Tolga himself was friendly and hospitable, and gladly met me in Taksim Square in the middle of a work day to lead me to the apartment. As others have mentioned, he clearly has a busy life of his own (and that's all good!) but he was easily reachable if I were to need anything at all. In the end I couldn't ask for more... it's a great set up and felt welcoming from the start.

  • Tolga has a nice place in a great neighborhood. It was exactly as advertised, clean, and larger than expected. While he was not around much of our stay, we weren't either, but he did exactly as he said and was a very nice host. I would recommend his place to others looking for an alternative to a Hotel type stay wile in Istanbul.

  • Outstanding in any way, there is nothing much to say really. So perfect, it is so familiar and comfortable, I rather come back here than going into an hotel :) Thanks to Tolga being a very nice and welcoming person.

  • Tolga was a good host who met us at Taskim Square very late at night and took us to the apartment which was spacious, very clean and well stocked. There was also the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on!
Apartment was in a quiet residential area but very close to corner shops, cafes and transport to other parts of the city. The first couple of days we walked down the very steep hill to catch the tram but at the end of the day, after a day of walking around we found it a struggle to get back up. You need good shoes for Istanbul pavements! Forget your high heels.
Tolga explained that there is a Funicular at the end of the line which goes to Taskim Square. After we discovered this life became so much easier! The tram system is excellent with a flat fare of 3tl however many stops you travel. Most major sights are served by it and they run every couple of minutes until midnight.
Within a couple of minutes walk from the apartment there are lots of excellent well priced eating places and two lively main streets with plenty of shopping opportunities.
We had a full itinerary planed before we arrived, but Tolga made suggestions of other places we might like to visit and how best to reach them. He is a real enthusiast for his city. Tolga was out most of the time so we had the flat to ourselves, but if we needed him he was at the end of the phone line.

  • If you are going to Istanbul, STAY WITH TOLGA! He is super nice, totally chill, flexible, accommodating and makes you feel right at home. I love AirBnB but had never chosen to stay in a private room at someone's house until Tolga's house. It was a great idea and I would do it again in a heartbeat. Also, as a single traveler, Tolga invited me out and I had a great time and was able to see the Taksim night life scene, something I would not have done by myself.

The apartment is nice with a sofa in the room so if you want to relax, you don't have to feel like you're going to bed. It's in a great area - super close to walk to the main Taksim drag but far enough away that you can sleep at night and feel like you're getting a real neighborhood experience with cute shops, places to go and easy access with transport to Blue Mosque and other areas.

So, when you're going to Istanbul, definitely book here.

  • We stayed in this room for one month and it was perfect! The room is very lovely! It´s spacious and clean, and great tasteful interior! The whole flat is very nice and it´s in a beautiful building.
Tolga is a very friendly and helpful host, he cares a lot about his guests! We were very thankful for all the tips and recommendations he gave to us! Cihangir is very great neighborhood, many nice places to visit and hang out! This is the perfect place to stay in Istanbul!!

  • Tolga is the perfect host for a stay in Istanbul. The flat is beautiful, the room as shown on the picture: clean, big, with a nice bed. Tolga himself is very helpful to do the first steps in Istanbul, where to eat, where to go and where to enjoy the city (also off the tourist tracks).
I can recommend this place to 100%.

  • I warmly recommend Tolga's place to Istanbul visitors.
I stayed there for a week and had a great time.
The room is very cosy, the whole apartment is perfectly furnished (kitchen, bathroom), and the area is also very nice.
You will not be willing to leave Istanbul at the end of your stay!

showhow - ideas to entertain
i was born in istanbul, and i have been living in cihangir, beyoglu for 10 years. i'm in love with the city and cihangir neighborhood. i was graduated as an electronic and communication engineer from one the best technical universities in turkey, but i've never worked as an engineer :) i've been working entertainment industry (music events production mostly) since 1994. me and my business partner set up our own company (showhow) in 2009. we promote our own festivals, and we work with cool brands, such as red bull and miller. i'm a part-time lecturer at bilgi university ("financial management for arts and culture") i don't prefer spending my time at home. there are a lot of things happening in istanbul (art, music, design stuff...) and it's not a good idea to stay at home :) my guests will be able to participate the cool life style of cihangir, beyoglu and different events so easily, because that's what i do to enjoy the life and to make money!
