Alpenglow Manor Guest House is situated on the beautiful and breathtaking mountainside of Mount Shasta, just one mile from the quaint and charming downtown of Mt. Shasta city. The Guest House has stunning views of the mountain from 5 park-like acres.

The space

The Guest House has stunning views of the mountain from the kitchen, dining room, and living room that will leave you in awe, especially during the alpenglow, when the sun sets and bathes the mountain in brilliant colors of pink, purple and orange. The Guest House sits on the second story above the garage on 5 landscaped acres, which allows for the best opportunity for magnificent views. Your hosts live in the adjacent main house and are readily available for any questions. The secluded property has a gated entry and paved private drive that allows for peace and quiet while you relax and unwind. This is a perfect all-year-round vacation spot that accommodates up to 6 people with 2 bedrooms (each with a queen bed) and 1 bath, and an additional full futon in the living room.

Guest access

The idyllic location of our Guest House is completely surrounded by nature but also only a 15 minute walk to downtown where you’ll have access to grocery stores, a yoga studio, post office, laundromat, rental equipment shops, gift shops, coffee shops, restaurants and more. We are a 20 minute drive to Mt. Shasta Ski Park, 15 minutes from the Nordic Center, and also conveniently located just up the street from Shastice Park, which hosts outdoor concerts in the summer and an ice skating rink in the winter.

Interaction with guests

Your hosts live in the adjacent main house and would love to help answer any questions you might have.

Yes, it is both walkable and secluded! On 5 lovely acres within a 15-20 minute walk of downtown. Views of Mt. Shasta and of Black Butte from the living room. Cailin was welcoming and available. The space is beautiful, clean, and well and thoughtfully stocked. Very separate from the family's living space, so we felt we could play music or watch a movie with the windows open without bothering anyone. Nice, quiet neighborhood, kind host, stunning location. A delightful stay.

Spectacular guest house, very well-equipped with high quality furnishings, both secluded and yet centrally located in Shasta City. Beautiful mountain views right from the house, large, well kept 5 acre grounds, very kid friendly. Comfortably accommodated six. Very accommodating host -- ask about her own art adorning the walls and about the chicken coop. A little uncomfortable mid-day without AC, although arguably we stayed the hottest week of the year. Cooled down every night, however, and all rooms had fans.

My family loved the house. Cailin was a gracious host that showed us around and promptly answered questions when needed. The scenery, indoors, and outdoors were all wonderful. The only complaint I have is the summer heat warmed up the place and it took a few hours to cool down.

What a gorgeous space. The view from the living room is amazing! And the little "coffee break" space that Cailin has created just for guests is lovely. From there, the view of Black Butte is spectacular, especially in the evening as the sun goes down. What a wonderful home! Thank you for sharing it with us, Cailin.

The view from the windows, the gorgeous backyard and Cailin's thoughtfulness made this one of my best airbnb trips. We had to reschedule our arrival a few times due to July 4th traffic and Cailin was very accommodating! The cabin was very clean and stocked with extra bedding, towels, kitchen condiments and utensils. Totally comfy! You won't regret this stay!

This property lives up to all expectations with stunning views of Mt Shasta even from the living room sofa. Great, spacious apartment, excellent kitchen, super quiet, a short drive from downtown and hiking trails. Highly-recommended.

Cailin User ProfileCailin is a superhost.

I grew up in Mt. Shasta and I'm happy to return here after being away for 14 years. I really enjoy the peace and quiet, the fresh air and delicious crisp mountain water straight from the tap. My husband and I have stayed at numerous vacation rentals around the world and have really enjoyed the experience. I wanted to offer a similar enjoyable experience to others in the hometown that I love.
