Built in 2020, the Loft overlooks Lake Superior (every window has a view). It has a full kitchen, cast iron tub, home office. Enjoy the large cedar deck, stroll to the beach, take a sauna, hike our trail, and have a bonfire.

Our property is located in a 20 acre slice of the Northwoods nested in between evergreen trees and gorgeous Lake Superior. The property is full of wildlife, birds, butterflies, wild flowers and wild berries. It is the perfect spot for a couple looking for a romantic and peaceful getaway, or a single person in search of quietude.
→ LOFT:
The 20'x35' building was finished in 2019. Many of the white pine timbers that compose the frame were locally and sustainably logged, sawed and treated by us, the owners. It has 10 huge windows and a cathedral ceiling making this loft very airy, elegant and modern. It has been thoughtfully designed with one or 2 people in mind.
→ LIVING/DINING ROOM
Enjoy a 180 degree view of Lake Superior from anywhere in this area: while sipping coffee on the couch or enjoying a meal at the dining table. The Article couch, soft wool rug and cozy throw blanket will make you snuggle up and enjoy the snow fall.
→ KITCHEN:
The kitchen has full size appliances, doug fir cabinets and white quartz countertop with bar top height stools. It is a beautiful place to cook your meals and enjoy the lake view. It has a fridge and freezer, 4 burner electric stove with oven, coffee maker, blender and all needed cooking and baking utensils.
→ BATHROOM
The bathroom is truly spa like: beautiful, spacious and airy. It has cedar wood paneling, a cast iron tub and a white vessel sink.
→ ENTERTAINMENT:
There is a TV and DVD player in the bedroom.
→ SAUNA:
Andrew finished our 10x14 sauna in 2019. It has cedar paneling and a wood burning stove, a nice size changing area, a large window in the sauna room overlooking Lake Superior and a nice porch to cool off and enjoy the view. While the sauna is shared among our three cabins, guests must reserve their sessions to ensure exclusive time and privacy.
→ OUTSIDE:
Outside, the fire pit is only a few steps away and overlooks Lake Superior. The slate stone patio is wonderful for enjoying the beautiful sunsets and listening to the birds. Oh, and keep an eye out for all the bald eagles! The big tall spruce tree on the edge of the cliff overlooking the lake is the hangout area for these beautiful birds. It is basically guaranteed that you will see one or a couple hanging out on the three and being harassed by crows and seagulls.
Guest access
Guests are welcome to access the entire Loft, deck, fire pit, charcoal grill, grassy areas, hiking trails and sauna (by reservation only).

DISCLOSURE:
1. We require that you read and agree with our Rental Agreement. A direct link to it will be sent to you via AirBnB messages shortly after your booking. You will have 48 hours starting at time of booking to read and agree or to cancel your reservation for a full refund.
2. Agua Norte Loft shares property with Agua Norte Cabin and Tranquilo Cabin. Closeness to nature and solitude are a couple of the reasons why our guests choose to visit Agua Norte and we ask that you respect quiet hours and our other guests' privacy. When you look out the window towards the Lake, you will see the Agua Norte Cabin. Please see photos for reference or reach out with questions.
3. All guests must fill out a registry form upon check-in complying with MN STATUTE 2018 327.10. A link to this form will be sent to you on your welcome message shortly after your booking is confirmed.
4. Our driveway is steep and can be icy and slippery during cold months. A 4/AWD vehicle is highly recommended and in the event that you can't make it up the driveway, you are fully responsible to remove your vehicle and free up the driveway immediately.
5. Agua Norte Loft is on the second floor. The first floor is a garage used for personal storage and a utility and laundry room used by our cleaning team on cleaning days during scheduled turnover hours: 9AM to 5PM. These areas are private and locked and not to be accessed by Guests. The Loft has a private entrance on the opposite side of the building and it is completely separated from the garage and utility area. Please see photos for reference or reach out with any questions.
6. Agua Norte is also our home. We do reserve the right to work, maintain and enjoy our property. We lead very busy lives, especially in the Summer and we are in and out of the property often.
7. The Northwoods is full of wildlife and bugs. Please be respectful of the animals you will see on the property. Spring and Summer are heavy bug seasons and you will have to deal with mosquitos, occasional spiders and cluster flies. We do what we can to minimize flies around the building during fly season, but some years are worse than others and they may come regardless of our efforts.

Agua Norte is located only 4 miles "North" of Grand Marais. It is the perfect distance to feel like you are in the woods but still run to town when you choose. Our 10 acre parcel of land is nested by the Northwoods evergreen trees and Lake Superior. You can walk down the driveway to a long Lake Superior beach or reach a few different hiking trails within minutes (Devils Track, Kadunce, Devils Kettle, Pincushion).
