Guest access

Please note this is a turn of the century house which has the original hot water radiators. Individual room temperature can not be controlled. The entire building is heated at 21 celsius or more. If you find it cold, like when it's below minus 20, there is a Dyson heater to supplement the heat for the bedroom.

The 3rd sleeping space is the couch and it does not open.

Interaction with guests

Personal interactions with guests are minimal since I live a few hours away.

The neighborhood

The Golden Triangle is Ottawa's premiere neighborhood. Located between Elgin and the Canal, the Pied a Terre is walking distance to everywhere, the Glebe, the Rideau Center, Parliament and most all museums. Shopping, Cafes, restaurants, groceries and LCBO (liquor store) is just steps away.

Getting around

Walk along the canal to the market, or TD place at Lansdown, be on the highway in 1 minute, public transit at the corner, or even rent a bicycle at the corner.
This location cannot be beat for mobility

Other things to note

This apt is not suitable for a party or similar events. The building is comprised of business professionals and everyone is considerate of volume and try to keep disturbances at a minimal.

My stay at Jesse's was excellent. He was very easy to get in touch with when I had difficulty finding/unlocking the key box. I would definitely recommend staying with him.

This was our first Airbnb experience. Jesse was a really good host responding quickly to email questions and checking in part way through our visit. The place looks just like the pictures. It was a bit tight with two of us and our dog. Having said this, we would happily stay there again. The bedroom fits a queen bed and two side tables and enough room to walk around the bed. It is cooler than the rest of the place (we kept bedroom doors closed) and we love sleeping in cooler rooms (18 C) so perfect for us. We stayed for 10 days and were in Ottawa for business. There is a narrow table that can be used to eat at with 2 chairs. You can eat side by side. Otherwise dinner can be shared with friends around the coffee table. Kitchen works beautifully. Upscale appliances and good flow for cooking. The following comments would not apply if we were staying for 4 days of vacation. The space for storing clothes is a cupboard with shelves in the living room (no dresser). We had too many work and leisure clothes to fit into cupboard in one go. So we had a suitcase lying in living room to accommodate for this, which made the living room tight for moving about (we also had dog bed to navigate around). The narrow table was fine for one of us working on our computer but not both. The floor is slightly sloped so the office chair slides backwards. Bottom line, quite workable for a person but not ideal for two on business travel. Thanks so much Jesse!

Jesse was a very engaged and helpful host! I appreciated his quick response any time I had a question. The location of the apartment is terrific and very convenient. The kitchen and bathroom are really nice, and we spent lots of time hanging out in the main room on the sofa. The bedroom is very small and a bit cold, because of the windows, but we had no problem with it. The only thing that surprised me was that the other apartments in the building had people coming and going to/from AirBnB stays a lot. It wasn't a problem-- everyone was friendly, quiet, and considerate. We had to coordinate with other guests to share the driveway parking spaces, but it was pretty easy. All in all, great location and a really comfortable stay. Thanks, Jesse!

Jesse is a great host, very accessible. The place was as described but smaller than expected. A little tight, even just for two. Don't be put off by the porch and entry way, the apartment is much nicer once you get inside. Great to have free parking and to be so close to the canal. Fabulous shower! Bring an extra blanket if you want to be warm, it was a little chilly for us but definitely a reasonable place for two nights. We enjoyed our stay. It's surprisingly quiet and the place is full of aesthetically pleasing details!

It's clean, modern, and in a great location. You can walk to almost every tourist spot in Ottawa. Only a 5 minute walk to the Rideau Canal. Jesse responds to messages very quickly. Thanks for the great stay.

I am a Registered Massage Therapist working out of Ottawa, Almonte, Gananoque and Seeley's Bay Ontario. We keep this small chic Pied-at-Terre in Ottawa but offer it to rent out most weekends. It is small, but very well appointed. We've now added a Studio at the same Park Ave location for the budget conscious traveler as well as a larger 2 bedroom apt that can accomodate up to 6 guests. We have a large 1 bedroom unit on Albert street very close to Parliament Hill as well as Toronto Condo at Downsview Station.
