About This Listing
My loft is in a converted factory and a two minute walk away from the train station. It's an ideal base for sampling East London's markets, fashion, art, graffiti, galleries, food and nightlife. Central London is less than 20 minutes away.
Come, stay and play in 'The Street Where Originality Lives.' Adidas have recently filmed two adverts here. Hackney Wick is an industrial area home to the capital's creative community of artists, designers, fashionistas and musicians.

My home has an open plan, multi-use feel and is bright. Space 1 is the living, eating quarter, it's cosy and has a sleeping area at the back, a double bed and another double bed above on a mezzanine. Space 2 is the creative room, it has an office area, and a second double bed. There's a large open space to make and create (photography, art etc) or stretch and do some yoga.
Our COMMUNITY is a creative, unconventional one, what Steve Jobs refers to as 'the misfits, the square pegs in the round holes, the people who see things differently.' Victoria Park is a five minute walk away as is the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and the river is one minute. Both have great cafes and play areas. Hackney Wick is like a village, its quiet, everybody knows one another, we have cafes, a theatre, wine bars, restaraunts and a couple of supermarkets.
If you are seeking adventure, romance, nature, culture, difference or want a unique experience, come to the Wick.
TRANSPORT LINKS are excellent, the Overground station is two minutes away, buses are five minutes away and London's Bike Hire scheme is available at the edge of our Victoria Park. Central London is easily accessed.
The East is without doubt the hippest, friendliest place in London, it has an edge and a myriad of cultures and communities to sample. There is a phrase, Tired of London - Tired of life. This City is unique...it has everything and there is a harmony found in the edge. Come - Share - Experience - Thrive and Smile....

Me - I have been exhibiting art and working with community groups for 15 years. I work with recycled materials. I also write - I'm currently writing a novel about the area and I've traveled extensively. I believe life needs to be lived moment to moment and the deepest joy is always found in the simplest of things...the scent of a flower, a smile, the sound of the birds singing or seeing the fox at night in the park.

The loft is all yours during your stay.
Interaction with Guests
I always meet guests and I will introduce you to the loft and the area.
Creative industrial village with more artists per capita than anywhere in Europe, surrounded by London's oldest (Victoria) and newest (Olympic) park. Graffiti, music videos being filmed and now it's apparently the fashion capital of the world, and central London is a 20 minute ride away.
Hackney Wick station is a two minute walk. Stratford is five minutes.
Other Things to Note
Check in times are usually flexible, except when there is a booking directly before or after you.
Respect and common sense. This is my home. Windows need to be closed when going out.
We had a wonderful stay at Russells loft. Hackney Wick is a very nice neighborhood if you like us like places a little out of the odinary. It was very easy to get to the city center by train. Russell is a sweet host. We stayed two adults and two kids aged 10 and 11. It was perfect for the four of us.
Russell's loft is spacious, quiet, clean and close to overground station. Hackney Wick is a very intersting place full of art, young people but also quiet and safe. With my wife and two sons we spent some delicious days. Grazie Russel, grazie HWFI.
We spent 4 nights in Russel's loft, with our 2 children of 16 and 13 years old. The loft is very comfortable, decorated with taste and very quiet! The kitchen is well equipped, the brand new shower works very well and everybody slept like babies.
The area can seem surprising but we really felt at ease in Hackney Wick.
And Russel is kind and helpful. He waited for us at station (5 min from the loft) and gave us information about shops and restaurants.
Perfect stay for the 4 of us!
Russell was hospitable and friendly, he showed us around the apartment and recommended us a great cafe. He was really thoughtful and had extra pillows, towels and even slippers! I highly recommend his lovely apartment to anyone looking for an exciting stay.
Russell apartment it´s very confortable. Everything is very clean and organice.
It´s only 2 blocks from the overground so it´s very easy to travel around the city.
Russell was waiting for us in the station (thanks for the pacience), he was very helpful with everything we needed to know.
Very good experience!
We had a fantastic stay at Russell's flat. It was a very cosy and comfortable place to stay after a long day of adventures in London with our 3 year old son. A very unique and wonderful little place in a very vibrant neighbourhood. Hackney Wick is a very artistic and unusual place with a great deal of interesting history.
Russell was a great friendly host too. He was full of great recommendations and hints and tips on travel, places to see and places to eat. He answered all of my many annoying questions with great speed and clarity.
Thank you again Russell for a lovely stay. Give me a shout if your ever in Edinburgh.
All the best and kindest regards,
Kuba, Noah and Emma :-D
Although we had an annoying problem with the shower, we had a great time in London and we liked the appartement. It was nice that the overground station was so close and that there was a shop there as well, to get what we wanted!

London is unique...it's probably the most open city in the world.. it has everything. Food of every nation, culture, museums, parks, (email hidden) is a place that feeds the soul and after 15 years, it's still my lover, there are still places for me to discover. I've been a tour guide for family and friends and will gladly share my experience to make your visit easier...
Staying in the Wick next to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and in the heart of the Arty East End is an experience worth having.
I love food, creativity, dance, meditation, art, nature and meeting people. The greatest moments in life are the unplanned surprises. We never know what tomorrow brings.
