You could do simple cooking in the apartment. However, most visitors would be unlikely to do that because of the wide variety of restaurants nearby: Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Indian and Western. Needless to say, you would also be well served by McDonalds, KFC, Pizza huts and other fast food chains.

Other Things to Note
I have 6 apartments in one building, they are exactly the same with layout, size and facilities, slightly difference with furniture.
I don't like to regulate my guest any rules, just please be nice to the furniture and try to remember to turn the lights and A/C off whenever you leave the apartment. The check in time should be after 1pm and check out time before 12am, but it can be flexible based on the reservation and availability. Pls inform me immediately if there is any problem of the amenities and I will arrange the worker to take care at earliest time.
My first bad experience with AirBNB. Finding the place was a nightmare and when I found it I wished I hadn't. Very basic flat on a long corridor of rooms in a dingy building in a very ordinary neighbourhood. All the furniture was basic and kitchen and bathroom equipment were old and even the mattress was lumpy. I got up early and went straight to the station to get back to Shanghai.
I was promptly met by Robert at our agreed time and was upgraded to an even nicer studio! Super clean and incredibly safe area--very close to a very central metro/bus station. There's even a convenience store in the building and an American store (Jenny Lou's) right around the corner. Definitely recommend!
