Hillside Retreat offers beautiful river views during the fall, winter and spring. The lush greenery of the trees in summer provides beautiful color attracting many birds and other wildlife to the hillside. There is direct access to the 4-mile-long Tidioute Rec track/birding trail along the picturesque Allegheny River. Sip your coffee in the morning on our large, covered porch with plenty of comfortable seating to plan your days adventures. Eagles are often seen flying and playing overhead.

The space
The property borders the Allegheny National Forrest and is located at the end of a private lane just outside the borough limits of the charming small town of Tidioute. Covered porch, outdoor fire pit in the backyard, cozy sunken living room with sliding glass doors and gas fired fireplace are just a few of the features that that make this home so inviting. The house has just been remodeled. The area is an outdoors person's paradise. Fishing, kayaking, canoeing, hiking, hunting, horseback riding, motorcycling, 4 wheeling and bird watching just to name a few.

We have two cameras on the property. One is on the garage facing the driveway. The second one is on the back of the house facing the back yard. They both have motion detecting lighting.

Neighborhood highlights

Located just outside of the small town of Tidioute. We are located at the end of a small lane with only two other houses. One of the houses is owned by us and is Hillside Hideaway on Airbnb. This house (Retreat) is at the end of the lane. In the late fall, winter, and spring you are able to see the Allegheny river and the Tidioute bridge. When the leaves come on the trees we lose the view. There is a trail in the back yard that leads down the hill to meet the Tidioute River trail. Quiet setting surrounded with woods.
Tidioute is a small town with no regular grocery store. We have a Family Dollar and Trading Post, convenient store/gas station.
