Welcome to the Original Surf Shack! Fall in love with this vintage 1955, 2 BR original juniper beach cottage. Completely renovated with a custom kitchen & retro appliances that will please any chef. Enjoy all the modern conveniences including high-speed WIFI and cable TV. Indulge in a spacious outdoor rain shower experience in a full outdoor restroom. Great location with uncrowded beaches, excellent local restaurants, and sunsets on the bike paths along the Sound.

The space
This quaint cottage has been enjoyed by 3 generations of the original family and is now ready to be shared with you! We try to provide everything you will need for an epic and memorable beach vacation, so just pack your small suitcase with your bathing suit, suntan lotion, shorts, t-shirts and flip-flops. We provide quality Tommy Bahama Cooler Chairs, luxurious beach towels, umbrellas, complimentary bicycles, surfboards, SUPs are all available upon request during your stay. Complimentary laundry service is provided with advanced notice for longer stays.

Other things to note
Our goal when purchasing this cottage was to help maintain OBX's original charm and character while providing couples and small families an alternative to many of the larger "family reunion style" homes with beautiful views and quality. With two comfortable Queen-size beds in two separate bedrooms, we find that a small family, a couple or single will find the Surf Shack most comfortable for summer season and a couple for Fall season. We have done our best to maintain as much of the original juniper walls & ceilings, resurfaced pine floors as possible while adding everything you would want or need for the ultimate surfing/beach vacation. If you have any special needs or requests, please let us know in advance of booking, and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Walk to another local's favorite, Mom's Sweet Shop for an Acai bowl, smoothie, milkshake, or ice cream. Miniature golf, go-carts, bumper cars, Henry's Restaurant for a traditional OBX breakfast, Vinny's Pizza Joint for carry out to enjoy on the deck with wine/beer, and don't miss John's Drive Inn for a dolphin sandwich (mahi mahi) and best milkshakes on the island; all within a short walk or bike ride away.

Attractions like Wright Brothers Memorial, Jockey's Ridge or special date night at Trio Restaurant & Market or Ocean Boulevard Bistro & Martini Bar are a very short drive away.
