Quaint home base for a DownEast Maine Vacation. Newly renovated cabin located at the edge of private woods located off an easily-accessible rural paved road. Centrally located between the two units of Acadia National Park (Mount Desert Island and Schoodic Peninsula) and the beautiful, quiet lakes and mountains of the Donnell Pond Maine State Preserve.

This cottage received a 4.93 rating with 40 reviews last year. In this, my first year as primary host, I will provide the same superhost service.

The space
Woods Edge is a 16 x 16 studio with a kitchen, couch and dining area, and 3/4 bathroom with shower. The kitchen has all the basic amenities you will need. There is a screen porch off the side of the cabin to enjoy the private woods without the bugs. The cabin is located about 100 feet behind my rural house, but it has the semblance of complete privacy because it sits on the edge of the woods with windows facing dense unoccupied woods and a field. No other houses are visible from the interior of the cabin.

Distance to Acadia National Park: The closest areas to both units (Schoodic and Mount Desert Island) are about 30-35 minutes away from the cottage. The cottage is located centrally between the two units. Bar Harbor is 50-55 minutes away. Just about any part of Acadia National Park (including the highlights - Thunder Hole, Sand Beach, Cadillac Mountain, and Jordon Pond - excluding outlying islands) can be reached in about an hour or less.

Although Acadia National Park is a big attraction, the Donnell Pond State Preserve is a hidden recreational gem with boundaries within this town. The closest unit of Donnell Pond Maine State Preserve is only 15 minutes away. Also located within a few miles is access to the DownEast Sunrise Trail, an 80 mile all access (foot, bike, ATV) trail that runs from Ellsworth to Machias.

I will interact and provide information at the level the guest desires. There will be plenty of area information in the cabin including guide books and recreational maps.
