One block from the State Capitol Building, this charming apartment in one of Juneau's oldest homes, is stocked with everything you'll need to make your stay fabulous.
Short walk to trails, restaurants, shopping and chickens in the yard!

The space
This home was built in 1892, and is one of Juneau's oldest homes. Most of the homes on 6th St. were built by the same family. The apartment is cozy and sweet and has been stocked with everything you'll need to make your stay comfortable. If there is something you need that you can't find, please ask us! We're happy to do our best to get it for you. Two people can comfortably share the space, a small child could sleep on the couch.

Guest access
The house has a yard that we use in the summer, and you're welcome to join us if we're out there or use it yourself. We are social people. We have friends over for dinner in the yard and fires in the fire pit, you're welcome to join us!

Other things to note
The house is up 20 stairs from the street, it makes for great views and you are up and out of the business of the street. The apartment is downstairs and we live upstairs. It is an old house and you will hear us moving around doing things. You will also hear the dogs from time to time. We are always mindful of folks below us, and this has not been an issue over the years, but if this sort of thing will bother you, this might not be the best place for you to stay. We have chickens and so long as they're laying, we'll put some eggs in the apartment for you upon arrival. There will also be fresh locally roasted coffee, coffee grinder and both a press and a coffee machine depending on how you like it. The kitchen will also be stocked with salt and pepper and organic herbs and spices for cooking. We are happy to accommodate a well behaved dog. We have two small dogs of our own, so we do ask that you let us know ahead of time if you'd like to bring your pup so we can make sure it's a good fit. One of our dogs struggles bit with other dogs ;)

I am a life long Alaskan (except for leaving for college) and have been working in social services for over 15 years. I am the Assistant Director of a small non-profit that serves individuals with disabilities and seniors throughout Southeast Alaska. My husband is the IT Director for another non-profit social service organization in Juneau. We own the second oldest house in Juneau and we spend a lot of time working on it! We have five chickens, two small dogs (Rosie and Arlo), and a cat (Iris). In my spare time, I serve on our local public radio board of directors, do mixed media art work, photography, hike, garden, camp, ski, and cook.
