Great house for football weekends! Close to campus. House is very clean, kid friendly, and well stocked with amenities for our guests. Accommodates larger groups with its 3 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms. The bedroom on the first floor has a queen size bed and an attached bathroom. The bedrooms on the second floor have a queen and a full size bed. We have a full size and twin size air mattress. All bathrooms have showers.
You will enjoy the quite neighborhood and fire pit in the backyard. Walk to ND stadium, campus, and bars and restaurants downtown or in the new Eddy St. Commons.
The house is decievingly large. With the newly finished basement it has lots of space. Plenty of sleeping space as well.
Guests have access to the whole house. The dressers and closets are full, however, and cannot be used by guests. There is wifi, local tv, a computer for Internet use, a PS3, and a WiiU.
We have a great entertainment area in the basement with video games and Netflix and blu- rays all for you to use on a 40" flat screen. There is a grill and fire pit in the backyard great for relaxing in the evening.
A key will be made available to the guests upon arrival in arrangement with us. We ask that you lock the keys in the house when you leave.
Interaction with Guests
We will be absent from the premises the entire weekend, but staying in town so we can be available if need be. Otherwise we will not see the guests at all.
We live in a quiet block with friendly neighbors. It is half way between campus and downtown so it is near everything. We often walk downtown and to campus as well with our children. You will not feel far from anything going on during a football weekend.
Taxis are always available if you call for one, but expect a wait. Walking is easy. It is a 10 to 15 minute walk to campus or downtown in the other direction. The bus runs down Twyckenham which is one block away. Walking is by far the best and fastest choice during a football Saturday.
Other Things to Note
My wife and I are lifetime residents of South Bend and are happy and willing to give recommendations on restaurants and night life or outdoor activities. We are also parents to small children so we have a the usually kid stuff, i.e. diaper changing table and portable pack n' play for use if needed.
Our only rules are that you are respectful of our personal property. I am sure our neighbors would like it if the party's were not too loud, but anything reasonable is fine.
Our major stipulation is that if we find any damage that is worth over $50 we will hold the renter responsible.
We like being flexible and don't want you to have to worry about your stay.
Brian was a fantastic host! We had everything we needed, suggestions for great places to visit in South Bend, and more. The beds were comfortable the TV worked well, the speaker system sounded great and we had an awesome time going to the Notre Dame / Northwestern game. Would visit again! Go 'Cats!
Home is in a quiet, well-maintained neighborhood. It is well furnished, warm and welcoming. Letter of instructions and welcome was a positive as well.
The hosts communicated well, and were very flexible on arrival/departure times. We very much enjoyed our stay.
This house was perfect for our graduation weekend!! 7 of us stayed and were able to eat meals together and there was adequate space for sleeping. The new 3rd full bathroom made life easier for all as we had to be showered and out the door early on graduation day!!! Owner was available for any questions we had, before and during our stay.
Great experience at Brian's house. Plenty of space for our group. We really enjoyed the back patio on Friday evening. Thanks again to a great host for a fantastic stay. Would definitely rent this house again.
We had a great experience at Brian's house! The location was perfect for gameday and since it was a perfect day in South Bend, we were able to walk to the game and local restaurants. I'd definitely come back. Thanks, Brian!
About the Host, Brian
I am a South Bend native, have grown up a mile from Notre Dame, and still live within a mile of campus.
I have been married since 2009. My wife is a pharmacist at a local pharmacy and I stay home with our 2 children.
The house we are renting out is our primary residence and is very cozy and welcoming. Growing up an Irish fan I know how memorable and fun football weekends can be.
We look forward to hosting any future visitors and football fans.
