Nicholas was very friendly in welcoming us and introducing the apartment. He gaves us the directions to home 2 days prior to our arrival and notified us of the latest state of public transport, which we wouldn't have learnt otherwise. He also made sure we wouldn't wait on the day of the check-in, therefore our stay started very positive.
Nicholas was very well prepared as a host, too. The apartment is in a great neighborhood, close to public transport and Vatican as stated. There are several bakeries, restaurants, bars around and Nicholas gave us a list of all. He also walked us through Rome on a map, showing locations of all attractions, making us suggestions on what to do and what not to do. He was also very responsive during our stay, responding very quickly to address all our needs.
The apartment is very clean and neat, decorated nicely and covers all needs of a visitor. Having two separate rooms, each with a bathroom/toilet and air conditioning was great considering hot weather outside. The rooms were also very quiet and the curtains provided a good darkness, both of which helped us sleep well at nights and start the days better. The apartment seemed to be in a safe neighborhood as well, we felt secure even when we walked back from city centre around midnight.
I would definitely recommend this listing, as I will try to stay in the same place next time I visit Rome.
Good location, 10 minutes for Vatican. Quiet, less tourist part of Rome is nice. Stayed 1 night and was very comfortable. I recommend to anyone.
Me and my friends were super happy with our stay at Serena and Nicolas' place. The basement flat was very clean, bright and spacious. It has the perfect location as it is very close to the Vatican and the Ottaviano metro station, yet far enough to be removed from the tourist crowds. It is situated in a quiet residential neighborhood with plenty of good restaurants around. Serena was very welcoming and provided useful tips for our stay in Rome, as well as guide books we could borrow. There were also some snacks in the kitchen when we arrived :) All in all, we would definitely stay with Serena and Nicolas again and can wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone visiting Rome.
We had an enjoyable time at this BNB location. The best part was that it was within reasonable walking distance to the Vatican and there were lots of local restaurants right on the same block. The convenience of this was very good. Serena was very helpful and willing to give us recommendations for drivers to and from the airport and the cruise port. He was very reliable. The rooms were clean and well equipped with everything we needed. Thanks Serena
We were 2 families with 6 people (4 adults + 2 young girls). Because of the semester holiday, we visited Italy. We spent 3 days in Rome. We liked very much Serena & Nicolas's apartment. We strongly recommend it! ;O)
I want to thank Serena. She is a great host. She met us in front of the door. We had a warm welcome from Serena, who was kind enough to provide us with information & maps on the city. Everything was perfect. The appartment is very clean and perfectly equiped. The location is almost central. It is very close to Vatican and metro. It was exactly as described by the ad. There are also many books about Rome in the apartment.
Thank you Serena...
I had a wonderful time in Serena & Nicolas's apartment, while on holiday with my family. We were a group of five and the apartment proved spacious enough for all of us. It was clean and exactly as described by the ad. We had a warm welcome from Serena, who was kind enough to provide us with information & maps on the city. There are also many books on Rome in the apartment, in various languages (English, Italian, German or French).
The location is very convenient - the apartment is a 15 minute walk from the Vatican. The Metro stop Ottaviano is 10 minutes away and there are also a lot of bus connections to either the city centre or the area of the Parco della Musica. As for restaurants, there are plenty of them in roughly a 10 minute walk.
I would definitely recommend the apartment. Thank you Serena & Nicolas for having us :)
Serena was a gracious host. She was waiting for us outside of the building when we arrived. She showed us the apartment and gave us some helpful tips. The apartment itself was a short walk to the metro station which made it easy to get around. The neighborhood was quiet but also a short distance from stores an restaurants. Overall we were very pleased with our stay here. We would definitely stay here again.
