Spent two nights, nice quiet location but also just 5 minute drive from Westport. Fire was lit on arrival and also had bread, butter, eggs and milk ready for us and chocolate sitting on the pillows. All nice touches.

We really enjoyed our stay in this great spot near Westport. It was comfy, quirky and very well equipped. Mary and Eamonn were great hosts... there were eggs, bread, chocolate and a lit fire awaiting our arrival as well as tea, coffee, milk etc. Mary was very helpful too and we took her up on two recommendations for pub/food, which we enjoyed a lot. The location is secluded (which suited us, lovely and quiet!), but you can cycle to the Sheebeen pub (which does great food) and to the sea and even to Westport town. We enjoyed a walk along the river at the farm too as well as the friendly dogs and horses :-) On our trip we rented bikes and cycled on the Greenway from Achill to Newport (which was the most scenic and easiest direction!) and stopped at Yvonne's Cottage for a break. A great day out. We very much enjoyed our stay at this place - highly recommended.

If you are looking for some peaceful time out and/or a scenic get away this is the spot. The private grounds and walk down the river are gorgeous. Then it's close by if you fancy a ramble or cycle into Westport town. We only wished that we had more time.

Lovely spot to stay. Croagh Patrick on the doorstep, Westport down the road. Quiet yet only a short drive to restaurants and lovely pubs. Mary and Eamonn were very welcoming and had the fire lit for us and the tea on! We definitely intend to stay here again. Ross

Mary was very friendly and helpful and provided us with all the info we needed. The fire was lit when we arrived which was delightful after a long journey and Mary had left us some bread, milk etc. The cottage was lovely and cosy and has everything you need. We borrowed bikes from Mary, free of charge, and cycled to the local pub. Mary also provided us with helmets and high vis which was great. The grounds of the cottage are beautiful and quiet. Perfect location given how easy it is to travel into bustling Westport. Thanks Mary!

Mary was very welcoming and showed us around the charming accommodation and land. The area is very quiet and tranquil surrounded by beautiful countryside. We took out the bikes supplied by the host and cycled to the local pub along the bay - highly recommended.

Mary User ProfileMary is a superhost.

I am a musician, I'm from Belfast and I moved to the West of Ireland recently. I love my music and love performing at various functions and concerts.
I love the outdoor life which includes attempts at running every morning through the beautiful local woodlands here. Also short rows on the nearby river, trampolining, sailing and swimming in the sea with my two lovely girls. I sought the quiet life after a hectic city lifestyle and found this dream home.
This location is a perfect silent and friendly place to travel from and explore all outdoor pursuits.
