Our caravan is the first 100% Japanese-made of its kind, custom-built by local craftspeople. Inside is a double bed, dining nook, storage shelves, wi-fi, air conditioning and ensuite bathroom with modern toilet, shower and plenty of hot water.

The space

Outside the caravan is a secluded deck with handcrafted wooden lounge, perfect for drinks on warm nights. This is a space where you can escape the hustle and bustle after a day of exploring Tokyo.

Our caravan is parked inside a secure mixed-use complex that includes a shared office (which you will have access to), a gallery, cafes and food vendors selling from vegetarian to classic Japanese foods and some of the best coffee in Tokyo.

If you are looking for another location to experience a different part of the city check on our other location, an apartment in the vibrant Nakameguro.

Guest access

All equipment and amenities inside.

Interaction with guests

We love networking and hope this project will help us expand our friends around the world.

Other things to note

Caravan Tokyo premises are based in a mobile caravan. We have designed a very comfortable space yet it is compact so good planning and organization will be needed to have a pleasant stay.

Unlike usual mobile caravans and trailers this one is properly connected to water supply and drainage so it is clean and functional.

Overall a once in a lifetime experience. Amazing location. As a heads up, be aware that there will be people dining and drinking feet away from your bed at night. Still, it's Definitely a rare gem you will never forget.

This place was the best!! Great location (close to metro, short walk to Harajuku/Shibuya, surrounded by excellent food/drinks/atmosphere in 2nd Commune), comfortable bed, tape player with a collection including Billie Holiday and The Kinks... perfect! We had one large suitcase and two backpacks and had no problems. My husband is 6'-2" so he had to duck a bit in the shower, but he enjoyed it as well. As others have mentioned, the curtains don't completely cover the windows, but we still had plenty of privacy. No problems with noise either. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Prepare to be amazed. The caravan is truly special experience and a better place to place your next stay in Tokyo. Keep in mind this is a very public space during most of the day with outdoor seating for wonderful and unique eating and drinking within feet of the trailer. Personally, it was exactly what I wanted but don't expect total seclusion during business hours.

The Tokyo Caravan is such a unique experience. Though small, it has everything you could need for a unique stay in Omotesando. A fair warning: this place is right next to a somewhat busy cafe and community area. It stays pretty busy and lively until around 10pm when the curfew occurs. Tokyo Caravan is a lot like those tiny homes that are becoming so popular at the moment. It's impressive to see what they've done with the limited space. Bonus points for the cassette player and music!

Caravan Tokyo is easy to locate and near many public transportation stops. I arrived directly from the airport by train. The interior (especially the bathroom) is compact and minimalistic. Anyone who has an interest in "efficient use of space" or communes would be delighted by the design. The stereo also works perfectly! I would recommend bringing a smaller luggage, returning to the commune around or after 11pm if you want to rest as soon as you return because the commune doesn't close until 11. I enjoyed being in the commune and didn't mind the amount of people visiting, hanging out, playing music by throughout the day!

My wife and I stayed two charming nights in the Caravan. Loved the location and easy subway access. All of the vendors at the Commune looked amazing, we had the best fried chicken while we were there. The Caravan itself was quite comfortable -- we'd grown used to tight quarters while visiting Japan, and this was only the second smallest space we stayed in. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a one-of-a-kind experience!
