Where you’ll be

Mexico Beach, Florida, United States

Mexico Beach is the best of unpretentious and laid-back Old Florida: beautiful, clean, un-crowded beaches and a friendly, small-town vibe. Our beaches are dog-free and leave-no-trace, so no worries when arriving for the day -- you'll only find long stretches of clean white sand. Best part? You won't find the crowds of PCB and Destin. The stretch of beach directly across from our building is consistently un-crowded, which is great for morning and evening walks and uninterrupted views. If you want ultimate chill, you've found it. If you love outdoor activities like fishing, beachcombing, and kayaking, this is the place for you. We're proud of how peaceful our town is. Just plenty of space on the white sands, friendly people, and the best sunsets you've ever seen.

Mexico Beach is coming on strong after Hurricane Michael in 2018, but you will still see construction around town and even occasionally in the building. Restaurants favorites Mango Marley's, Caribbean Coffee, Crazy Beach Pizza and Ice Cream, and Killer Seafood are open, plus the new Tacos Chaparitta. Many more restaurants are planning to open. We have a small but well-stocked grocery store and a liquor store just a few blocks away, with an excellent Dollar General 5 mins away in St. Joe Beach and fully-stocked Piggly Wiggly grocery store just 15 mins away in Port St. Joe.

Mexico Beach is part of a group of small coastal towns in the known as The Forgotten Coast. It's fun to drive Highway 98 and check out these nearby towns, as each has a different feel. St. Joe Beach is just 5 mins away and has the popular Shipwreck Raw Bar and a well-stocked Dollar General. Watermark Beach has excellent The View restaurant with Gulf-view dining plus a great walking/running/bike path by the ocean that is formerly part of Highway 98. We depend on Port St. Joe for its many great restaurants + shopping -- only 15 mins down the road. Cape San Blas is a gem with Gulf on one side and Bay on the other. Great for fishing, kayaking, and stargazing. St. Joseph State Park the end of the Cape has hiking, fishing, and great Bay and Gulf views -- just a gorgeous time alone in nature. Oyster town Apalachicola is a great rain-day destination with its historical resources, plenty of cute shops, and great restaurants.

We got started in vacation rental property after a hurricane. My parents owned a beautiful condo that they weren’t up for rehabbing post-Hurricane Michael, so they sold it to us, beginning our adventure. With a background in managing our long-term rentals, I had no idea I would love hosting so much. I get to interact with so many wonderful people and aim to bring them smiles. What an amazing job I have! Beloved Tidelands has been a memory-maker for our family for years, so we’re grateful to hold onto it and add happy, comfortable properties, like fun Tidelands 2…and hopefully more to come!
