The apartments are located at 141, VIA GREGORIO VII ("Via Gregorio Settimo"), in a lovely, small palace dating back to the 1930's. From the windows of our apartments you can see the spectacular Dome of St. Peter's. Via Gregorio VII runs alongside Vatican City. Just a short walk away (within minutes), you will find the world's smallest state.... Christianity's most sacred site.
The historical centre is about 1 km from Romahouse.
Several of the buses that stop right in front of Romahouse bring you towards Rome's most interesting sites within minutes (e.g. Piazza Navona, Spanish Steps, the Roman Forum, the Colosseum, etc.).
VIA GREGORIO VII is a beautiful, tree-lined street where you will find Romans and tourists alike. The neighbourhood boasts many conveniences: supermarkets and grocery shops, banks and drugstores, fine restaurants and fast food restaurants, and all kinds of retail stores.
Upon your arrival you will be offered a map of the area, filled with useful hints about how to get around.
A local market "at your front door", among real Romans!
Every morning a vibrant, open-air market makes Via Gregorio VII cheerful and lively. There, you will find various booths: fruits and vegetables, fresh fish and meats, breads and pastries, as well as street-vendors selling clothes and household items.
No parties or loud music

We had a wonderful stay at Romahouse. The apartment was very clean, spacious and had everything we could have needed. Furthermore, the apartment is very close to the Vatican City and has a bus station right outside the door. We opted for the shuttle service offered by Martin, which was very comfortable. Martin was very helpful with tips and tricks for our stay in Rome and gave us a sheet with a map and recommended restaurants and walks locally. His recommendations were worth their weight in gold.
We give this apartment our highest recommendation!
Martin was very welcoming. He greeted us upon arrival and happily shared information re. Rome ie tourist attractions, best places to eat, how to avoid long ticket lines, etc. the apartment was beautiful and everything was as per advertisement. Everything was clean and the apartment felt very secure, the bed was also very comfy which was a bonus!
We had a wonderful stay at Martin's apartment in Rome. We utilised Martin's pick up / drop off airport service and he was on time both times, no issues. He offered us a lot of great advice and a very helpful hint for missing the cue at the Colosseum! The apartment was perfect! It was clean, had everything we could have needed, was very close to the Vatican City and had a bus station right outside the door. It also has air con, which was awesome at night as it was very hot when we stayed. We highly recommend both the host and apartment if you are traveling to Rome. Thanks for having us Martin!
We had a fantastic weekend in Rome and felt very comfortable in the apartment. The apartment had everything we needed and there are snack bars, restaurants and supermarkets near to it. The Vatican was a very short walk away so it’s very convenient. The view of St. Peter's Basilica from the window was just wonderful. And there are buses leaving from just outside the apartment, we easily walked into the centre of the city. Martin gave us a map and information on local restaurants and supermarkets which was very helpful. We give this our highest recommendation!
Martin was a fantastic host! He offered to get us from the airport for less than the cost of a taxi, and patiently waited while we had to attend to some ticketing issues due to one of our future flights getting cancelled. He gave us wonderful insights into Rome that only a local would have. His recommendations on what to see, how to see it, and how to avoid the long lines were worth their weight in gold.
The accommodations were great. Clean, comfortable and in a super location. The view of St Peter's Basilica right out our window was breathtaking. It is in a very non-touristy location and it is very safe.
We give it our highest recommendation!
We felt very well in our stay at Martin place. Very well located and with the facilities as were announced. thanks
Really good apartment - brilliant shower, comfy beds and very clean. No pans for doing any cooking but it didn't matter as there are plenty of eating out options. Met at the door on arrival by friend of the host. Really friendly. Provided with good local information. Walking distance of Vatican City. Thank you Martin for the recommendation of restaurants - went to "da Alfredo e Ada" twice it was so good. We would definitely stay in your apartment again if we come back to Rome. Thank you Regards Liz & Amy

About the Host, Martin
Hi, I am Martin! I was born in Salzburg - Austria forty-three years ago. After a rather tranquil life as a teacher for music and math at a very nice place in the Austrian mountains I married my Roman girlfriend Daniela and an exciting life in the whorled capital of Italy started. Together we are managing our Romahouse holiday apartments now for nearly 14 years. It is a great experience to get known to so many different cultures from all over the world by renting apartments. This exploration of different custom and languages at work brings you sometimes a certain holiday feeling at home, too!
Thus we like to cook not only pizza and pasta at home... but also delicious food from Austria across Asia beyond America inspired by our guests.
In our holiday season we like to travel: Europe, Africa, Asia - sometimes cities but mostly we want to refresh our self in intact nature because this contrast from the daily "big city environment" is sometimes a necessary cure for our body and spirit.
Recreated back home in Rome again we are glad to
introduce our holiday experiences into our work.
