The Space

---Charming retired teacher's studio. Queen bed sleeps 2 and a with a blowup mattress available for an additional person. Complete linens provided, fully stocked kitchen and of course, private bath. 10th floor with great light and view. Elevator/doorman pre-war building 3 doors from Central Park . Safe, quiet neighborhood conveniently located near multiple subway/bus. Includes laundry on property, hair dryer, TV and wireless internet connection. I even provide shampoo, conditioner and soap. You will be surrounded by numerous fabulous restaurants. Walk to Time Square, Lincoln Center, Museum of Natural History or jog in Central Park. The B & C trains are 1 block away and the 1-2-3 are 3 blocks with numerous busses nearby. My apt is quiet and in a great, safe neighborhood but be prepared for SMALL; as in NYC small!

Check In
  • The studio apartment is in a beautiful, safe neighborhood only a few doors down from Central Park; great eateries; shopping; and transportation. Building is vintage mid-century but with an elevator. The apartment is very small but fine for 2 people. Queen bed is super-comfy; my husband and I slept so well! Chris has it very well-organized with anything you could need: hairdryer, coffee-maker, filters, micro-wave,etc. We did not (website hidden) was very clean and I had no allergy problems there, which can happen frequently in travel lodging. We did not cook. Telepan is right down the street and Westside Restaurant is 1.5 blocks. Both recommended, as is Chris's studio.

  • Chris, as a host, was absolutely wonderful. She was great to quickly respond to any questions I had.
The space was exactly as advertised and I loved the location. So close to Central Park and easy access to transportation. Plenty of towels, a quiet building on a safe street, and a comfy bed. She also left a great basket of things to do and see around the city. I definitely recommend her apartment and would definitely stay there again.

  • Our stay was perfect. We chose the unit because it was only 2.5 blocks from our family. Chris's place accommodated all of our needs. The room was comfortable and just what we needed for our 5 day stay. Chris was kind and helpful.

  • Fabulous time on the Upper West Side. Steps from Central Park and just around the corner from the Lincoln Center. Wonderful apartment and perfect getaway. Quiet and comfortable with personal touches like maps, umbrellas, snacks, and advice. Loved it and can't wait to go back.

  • The location is fabulous--perfect for Lincoln Center, Central Park and the Upper West Side. This was our second visit to this listing. The studio is tidy, very functional and well-equipped. Our host has made the most of a relatively small space, so there is adequate room for two people to store suitcases, unpack and settle in--we were very comfortable. The building manager/doorman is extremely helpful and friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return.

  • This little place is a perfect place for an authentic NYC experience. 1/2 block off Central Park West yet it's quite, clean and comfortable. It's an eclectic space. This very much feels like Chris' little oasis in a big city. The neighbors and doorman were very friendly and quick to treat me as though i was part of the building, and there all along.

Don't plan on cooking or entertaining (other than coffee or a glass of wine), but with all the Upper West Side has to offer why would you?

One note: The building is 15 stories and only has 1 slow elevator. It was never a problem, but won't be able to leave in a hurry. I found it quicker to take the stairs down.

I would definitely stay here again!

  • My boyfriend and I had a wonderful stay at Chris's apartment. We arrived late at night on a Tuesday and the doorman was ready with our key to the apartment.

The apartment was clean, cute, and quiet which was a delightful surprise considering you're in the middle of New York City. The apartment IS small. Great for two people but I couldn't imagine having more than two people staying there. Seriously, two people (who get along really well): GREAT. Three people: a giant, annoying crowd.

There is a small kitchen in the apartment but don't expect to be able to cook full meals with it. It's more like a place to fix up a snack, boil water for tea, or fix a drink/get a glass of wine. But considering the amazing food available in New York, I would hope you weren't planning on eating many of your meals in anyways. The bed was comfortable and clean, pillows were about average (but with plenty available) and bathroom was clean and with plenty of towels.

The location is ideal if you are looking for easy access to Central Park and the subway which essentially gives you easy access to the rest of Manhattan. You are literally a block away from the subway and the B and C local subway lines. We would also go running in Central Park which also was a block away. Great place to run!

Chris was great! She sent us a ton of info on New York City, tourist spots, and how to operate the subway. She checked in with us to make sure we got in ok and that our stay was going well. She was also available for calls when we needed to use her wireless printer to print tickets to go see the Yankees. Seriously, she couldn't have been a more helpful and gracious host! The BF and I both agree that we would definitely rent this apartment for our next visit which is certainly in our future because we had a BLAST!

  • Our stay was wonderful! Chris is very kind and helpfully cause we had a flight delay to arrive. The apt is near the touristic places but on a peaceful street. We could enjoy go to the opera just walking....Thais and Henrique
