Interaction with Guests
I check on my guests to see if they need anything a day or two after check in. I offer suggestions for places to eat or sights during their stay. I like to communicate through text or with airbnb messages. Guests are free to call my cell phone anytime from my landline. I'm available to answer any questions. If they need anything while I'm out of town, I provide two contact numbers.
This is a very quaint, safe and beautiful neighborhood which borders on the Noe Valley, Diamond Heights & Glen Park neighborhoods. There are downtown views while walking in the neighborhood as well as a good cardio workout!
There are a few parks with children's playgrounds, basketball and tennis courts. Also within walking distance are two enclosed dog parks and The Canyon.
Supermarkets are nearby: (Safeway is 2 blocks away and Whole Foods is on 24th Street), banks, restaurants, parks, cafes, Saturday morning Farmer's Market, laundromat and quaint shops are all in the nearby neighborhood. One mile from the Castro. Click on my "guidebook" (upper right hand corner of my listing) to see my fave neighborhood spots to shop, restaurants, cafes, etc.
There are some very interesting homes and a hidden stair street a couple of blocks away.
Having a car is a plus here because of the driveway and the steepness of the hill but there is public transportation: the (#35) bus is a 1/2 block away, the (#24) is 1 1/2 blocks away and the J Church streetcar is 3 1/2 blocks away. The BART train is about a mile away, which goes to and from the airport, downtown and the Bay Area.
Other Things to Note
Linens, blankets, towels, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and a hair dryer are provided for my guests.
Thanks for your interest and feel free to contact me so I can answer any questions.
Please no partying. Smoking outside only and small dogs are ok.
The neighbors are very nice and quiet. Please respect them as if they were your own.
The yard (front, back and side yard) can be slippery sometimes! Please be mindful and walk with caution!
We recycle & compost and appreciate it when our guests do the same.
Sara was super friendly and helpful. She provided a warm welcome, gave a tour of the apartment and had some supplies in the fridge for us. It really was a sanctuary at the top of the (very steep) hill. The bed was enormous and very comfortable, with great linens. The views were fantastic. We had a great stay.
Sara was an extremely welcoming host, her quick response to my queries and her easy going nature made the trip stress free and fun. Her place was exactly as described and has a great feel making you instantly feel at home.
I would definitely recommend staying here for your San Fransisco stay and will definately stay here again.
Sara welcomed us and showed us around the house how everything works and called her friend to ask questions about our transportation for us she was easily available if we needed anything which we didn't because everything was perfectly put together. It slept two teenage girls and two adults easily. It is a lovely place.
Sara is a very gracious host who, though she couldn't meet us, provided us with all we needed to fully enjoy our stay. Her beautiful house is in a quiet neighborhood so you can really relax after a long day wandering though this big and exciting city. If our travels bring us back to San Francisco one day we would very much like to stay at her house again.
We spend Memorial weekend at Sara's. She's a perfect host, easy to do business with, caring and responsive. Her apartment is lovely, spacious, bright and very comfy. We enjoyed our stay very much. Very comfy bed and well-equipped kitchen, Wifi, TV, cable, really perfect. The location is great too, very quiet but driving distance from the places that we like: Castro, Missions. We walked to 24th street which has plenty of restaurants, coffee shops and a great bakery (near the post office). It's a 30 minute walk with ups & downs because of the hills but very enjoyable. There's a Safeway in Diamond Heights, 5 minute by car. Having your own parking place is definitely a plus, we appreciated it that. In summary, a great place, host and location. We'd like to come back.
Sara was incredibly helpful and welcoming and put a lot of time and effort into ensuring we had a great visit. The house was beautifully decorated and perfectly located for getting around. Overall we had a fabulous time. I would definitely recommend staying here.
About the Host, Sara
I've lived in SF for over 30 years & grew up in the Bay Area. What would you like to see and do here?
I have been a host for international students in the past and I really enjoyed it. I made a lifetime friendship from that experience. Hosting is another one of these experiences. I want you to have a comfortable stay and enjoy your time in "one of the most beautiful cities in the world!"
I too, want to see more of the world and meet its people. I had an incredible time traveling to Paris, Madrid and Barcelona in September 2013! Airbnb the entire way and each apartment was very unique and comfortable.
Thank you for considering staying in my place. Please contact me before you "book it". Thanks, Sara
