our host made us feel incredibly welcome. the space was exactly as described. space was clean and comfortable. short ride into woodstock. can safely recommend this place to others.
This is such a wonderful place to stay in the Catskills. I went up for the weekend with 5 friends and we had more than enough room. The kitchen is well equipped and we loved sitting around the fire, wine in hand.
The home is lovely and comfortable, surrounded by beautiful woods, a creek, and easy to find. The beds were comfy and the kids loved the jacuzzi tub!
Only downside for me was the customer service. I double-checked that the fireplace would be stocked and was assured it would be, but was then told via text (while in the car) that it wasn't after all and that I'd have to stop and buy my own wood -- or could get sticks from the forest. (Really? For this much money a night?) On the last day, I tried to follow the instructions to throw out the garbage in the locked shed which was across a large yard of ice, mud and slush. Trekked back and forth (garbage bags in hand) using every key I could find in the house and when I emailed Bruce that I couldn't make it work, he said oh yes, the key was lost by the last users. Information that would have been handy before that point! So, not the end of the world, but those little things make a difference when you're exhausted and with two young kids and needing a really relaxing getaway.
Asha, I'm sorry you had some frustrating experiences. Yours was a last-minute rental and there was not time to restock the wood. My offer to reimburse you for what you spent on wood still stands. As for the trash, the key issue has now been resolved but that does sound annoying. I hope you'll come stay again and see how smoothly everything runs!
The home was a perfect place for a weekend retreat! It was well stocked for cooking, had a lovely fireplace, and a gorgeous bathroom. Communication from the host was clear, and we would definitely return!!
The house was beautiful, and the manager was very communicative and helpful. It's in a really nice spot as well. We'll hopefully come back!
Bruce, the guest manager, was a delight to work with. He left an abundance of fresh firewood for us, and it was much appreciated on a very cold weekend! The home was just what we needed--- there were children's books and some games our kids enjoyed stumbling upon in closets and on shelves. We enjoyed a craft activity at Fiber Flame nearby and our kids loved snowboarding lessons at Hunter. We also spent time puttering around in Woodstock, and there was a great sledding hill in Saugerties (near a "Sugerties" sign!) In the evening, our kids loved the giant tub! It was a happy weekend!

Hi, I have a wonderful house in Woodstock, NY, with great energy, Great yoga, hiking, shops and restaurants nearby. Saugerties is just a 10 minute drive away. It is the perfect romantic retreat for couples, with its spa bath, gorgeous fireplace (built from stones on the property!) and privacy; a great family vacation spot (there are children's toys, books, and DVDs, as well as rocks to climb and a stream to explore, and dogs are welcome). It's also a wonderful place to have a solitary or group writing retreat. Whatever your situation, it is a place of great peace and serenity, surrounded by nature.
