The house was very private and quiet, the sun room is very peaceful and a perfect place to read a book (nap) on sunny afternoons, and on the few afternoons when we had rain showers. The location was convenient to Saugerties, Kingston, Catskill and Hunter and also the breathtaking Kaaterskill Falls - all 20-30 minute rides from the house. Nice charcoal grill made for some lovely meals out on the back patio. The house was well stocked and comfortable and in a very relaxing setting.
Ruth and the rental manager Bruce made us feel welcome with good communication and prompt follow-up to e-mails. The pictures of this house do not do it justice - they are beautiful photos, but the house is better than you can imagine: comfortable, serene (truly, no exaggeration), lovely, and with everything you need. Our weekend was unfortunately extremely rainy so we could not enjoy the outdoors, but it was still a great time, in large part because of the care and pride Ruth takes in her property. I will definitely be back.
The house and grounds were just as listed...very pretty, serene, quiet, and well-kept. A very enjoyable place to stay. Thanks!
Ruth's home was a very scenic and a comfortable escape to the Woodstock area. We were three couples and managed the single shower situation just fine, there is plenty of space. The house is very kid-friendly too, lots of toys and games that helped us kick back. Ruth's property manager Bruce was in contact throughout via email to check in (so not intrusive, just available), and Ruth herself was also so lovely and in our case actually had to put up with multiple changes and additions to our party due to us not having our ducks in a row. So an extra gold star for that! Thanks Ruth--would definitely stay again!
The house is situated on a beautiful piece of property and is so nice to be set back from the road. It is quiet and lush in the early summer, perfect for a city getaway. It rained while we were there and listening to the rain through the window was immensely soothing. Bruce the property manager was super helpful and very responsive.
our host made us feel incredibly welcome. the space was exactly as described. space was clean and comfortable. short ride into woodstock. can safely recommend this place to others.

About the Host, Ruth
Hi, I have a wonderful calm house located a 10 minute drive from both Woodstock and Saugerties. Excellent yoga, hiking, shops and restaurants nearby. It is the perfect romantic retreat for couples, with its spa bath, gorgeous fireplace (built from stones on the property!) and privacy; a great family vacation spot (there are children's toys, books, and DVDs, as well as rocks to climb and a stream to explore, and dogs are welcome). It's also a wonderful place to have a solitary or group writing retreat. Whatever your situation, it is a place of great peace and serenity, surrounded by nature.
