Guest Access

You have full access to the entire house including the exercise room and the fully equiped kitchen

Interaction with Guests

My interaction depends on the comfort of my guests. I have a busy social life so the house will be empty alot of the time but I make time for my guests if they want to be a part of my life. I often invite them along to my parties or social activities but I am equally as comfortable with them making themselves at home in the house whether I am present or away. We are pretty easy going here.

The Neighborhood

My neighbourhood is very central to everything. The bus stops across the street from my house and is a direct bus to the beach and the train. Across the street you can walk among the agricultural lands and have an amazing view of the mountains and the eagles that live there. Walk a block to restaurants and a butcher, hairdresser and local corner store. Neighbours are wonderful and friendly. It is a great place to live and visit. There is lots to do here and getting to the usual tourist spots is easy too.

Getting around

There is a bus stop across the street which takes you directly to a major bus loop which connects you with the train into Vancouver. Take the bus the other direction and it will take you to White Rock, the beach and the wonderful beachside restuarants. I am often going one way or the other and am happy to provide rides too. There is a lot of room to park your rental car in my driveway if you prefer your own wheels. I am happy to lend you my GPS so you don't get lost. I also provide (for an extra fee) a tour guide service which delivers you to he door of each tourist destination of your choice.

Other Things to Note

I do have pets but they are not normally allowed inside the main part of the house so if you have allergies (like I do) they shouldn't bother you here. My backyard is a wonderful place to relax. Lay on the hammock or in the hot tub or enjoy a campfire. It is very private and peaceful.

  • Shara was a great host and her home is lovely! Quiet even though on a major route we couldnt hear a thing! Felt like we were staying with friends! Loved the hot tub every night-slept like the dead!!

  • I really enjoyed my time with Shara. I have been there almost for 3 weeks and most of the time with my grand-daughter who is 2 years old. Shara made me feel at home and has been helpful in giving me rides to where i needed to go. I found Shara easy going, smart and interesting to share with. She has lives so many life in one life... much more to say but now it is up to you if you want to discover more...

  • Wonderful hostess, she opened her house to us completely. We were able to feel completely at home, even did our washing there.
Several mornings she made us breakfast, and made us feel as though we were family. THis is the best AirBnB accommadation I have ever stayed at and will defineately stay there again when we come to BC again The decor is out of this world, cleanliness 110%.
For some one wanting accommadation in Surrey for 2 this is the place.

  • Shara was very helpful right away and was so nice to borrow us her GPS right after we got to her place! Her awesome offer to drop us off and pick us up at the Skytrain station in surrey was really very comfortable! There were quite a few things she had offered us that were helpful and showed that she is an awesome host!
The room is very nice and we had a really good sleep! Being able to use the hot tub in the lovely yard was very relaxing after a long sightseeing day!
You could watch a movie on a really big screen but we preferred talking to Shara who is a very openminded, helpful, caring and admirable person.. We had some really interesting and touching conversations that we enjoyed a lot!
Shara is easygoing and made us feel like home! Unfortunately we had to leave early after the second night and lovely Shara made us delicious breakfast to go!!
We had a great time at Shara's place!! Highly recommended!!

  • Shara was great fun to stay with. She welcomed us in like we were old family and swapped some great travel stories with us. She was quite happy to let us make ourselves at home and didn't seem to mind us taking over the living room. After some bad experiences camping, she was very understanding that we needed some decent rest.

It was great sharing a few beers with her and her friends/family at the end of the day. She was also very accommodating in offering us lifts to wherever we needed, it was very appreciated. In addition, all of her pets are adorable and very affectionate, they're also mostly outside animals so the house is very clean. Overall it was a great experience and would definitely recommend it to all considering a relaxed atmosphere to stay.

  • We had a very comfortable stay with Shara. The house was very clean and had a well-equipped kitchen. The location worked really well for us, especially as we had to use public transit. She was a gracious and helpful host. Thank you, Shara!

    Response from Shara:

I hope you are aafe and enjoying the great weather. I think of you every time I see someone on a bike. :)

  • Shara was absolutely great. She welcomes me very warmly. It was a period she was at home, but wasn't invasive at all : She shares her life if you want to, but if you want to live on your own, it is absolutely possible. I did both during my 3-night stay.
Thank you for the talks, the waffle and the korean food (yummies, thank you Sue too) and everything else.
I highly recommend to stop by Shara's home if you are in the area.
The pictures represent very well her house, which is very clean.
Her 2 dogs are lovely, and love hugs.

    Thank you Shara :)

  • Shara provided an amazing home away from home. My wife and I arrived after 9pm and she welcomed us with wine and snacks, good conversation and a tour of "our home". She stayed next door, so we really had the house to ourselves along with the hot tub under starry skies. The location was handy for my work nearby in Surrey and Langley, BC and provided nice walking for my wife and I with mountain views and nearby agricultural land. I would definitely stay here again!

I am a single Mom with a great 19 year old son. I often travel with my son and my ex husband who is a very good friend or sometimes with other friends too. I live in Surrey, B.C.. I love having visitors to my home. I love to travel and learn about other people and their cultures. I am an active community volunteer. I work in the arts. I mentor new immigrants while they are settling in this country. Although I am allergic to animals, I have cats, dogs, rabbits and birds. I take a lot of antihistamines. I love life. I love to explore but I need a comfortable safe place to come home to when I am done. Five things I can't live first is my hot tub. Second is my children (I was a foster mom so I mean ALL my children). My grandchildren....nuf said, my animals. How many is that - four. Ok last is my electric potato peeler....don't ask. Favorite travel (email hidden)y place I haven't been yet. Favorite books - to many to name...seriously. I always have three books on the go and I couldn't even begin to tell you about them. To many to name...for real,. Movies - don't go- hate paying $5.00 for old stale popcorn. I watch documentaries on netflix. guess I am cheap. Music - like everything. Food - LOVE FOOD. When I travel i like to get to know the local people. I guess I value my privacy sometimes but for the most part - I really like people and I like them to hang around and tell me about what it is like living where they live. Tell me about your politics, your concerns. What really goes on in your town. I am really interested to get to know you. My style of traveling is eclectic. I will rough it for awhile and then I can't stand it anymore and it's 5 star all the way...til I feel like camping again. I have enjoyed my Airbnb experiences so far. I am looking forward to meeting you and your family. Do I have a motto....hmm. I say "just get on with it" to my kid a lot. Is that a motto? I guess it is. Quit whining and just get on with it.
