The Courtyard (Hope's Hideaway, Bremen's Barn & Reuben's Roost) are spacious and full of character with exposed beams, 4 poster comfy beds and 22 acres of gardens and grounds to use and explore

The space
The farm is situated near Dovedale in the Peak District National Park. Nestled between the Rivers of Dovedale and the Manifold Rivers, and has far reaching views and stunning walks straight from the door . Perfectly positioned for you to enjoy time and space in a wonderful setting with your family and friends. The Courtyard property with 11 bedrooms is very characterful and perfect for get togethers as there are also large kitchen and living spaces as well as a games room and 22 acres of gardens and land to explore.

The Courtyard Property (Reuben's Roost, Bremen's Barn and Hope's Hideaway) have been adapted where you can be together or self-sufficient depending upon your needs. These group of cottages have been affectionally referred to as the “Tardis” as it is larger on the inside!

in addition, the farm properties have just won the best Farm holiday accommodation in the North west and midlands, and all have five-star reviews as well as being highly commended in the Sunday Times Travel section.

There are 11 bedrooms which are all individually furnished and include 4 poster beds and up to date facilities. All permanent beds have linen and these beds are made up to welcome you.

There is a stunning communal kitchen/dining area in Hope’s, enabling all to cook, dine and socialise together. There is also a large games room with a pool table and lots of sofas for relaxing with big screen TV etc. Reuben’s living area is also very large and has a high vaulted ceiling with exposed beams, lots of space to socialise (a perfect area to roll the rugs up and party) as well as having a beautiful mezzanine area to escape and read a book, or to sleep as there is a sofa bed up there!. In addition the whole property has break off rooms, kitchens and large living areas which allows you to be together or independent, depending upon your needs.

Hopes Hideaway has four bedrooms plus a pull out sofa bed that is situated upstairs in the open plan living and games room. This cottage works well for any occasion and has a beautiful ground floor high vaulted kitchen with a 4 burner range cooker, two large fridge freezers and washing facilities. Attached to the kitchen is a large dining area and open plan snug with plenty of space for cooking, dining and mingling together. There are three bedrooms on the ground floor (a four- poster, and two twins) near 2 bathrooms. Upstairs is another double bedroom, as well as an open plan living and games room with pool table running along the top of the building under exposed beams and trusses.

Reubens Roost has three bedrooms plus a small sofa bed situated in the mezzanine. This cottage has a downstairs double bedroom near the bathroom and 2 upstairs bedrooms (a double and a small double with a single bed in the trussed attic room- low beams) There is a large high vaulted open plan living dining area, a fireplace and comfy sofas situated under lovely exposed trusses and a stunning mezzanine with a Juliette balcony. There is also a separate kitchen.

Bremen’s Barn has four bedrooms plus a small sofa bed in the downstairs double four-poster room. This is an upside down house with four double bedrooms (three downstairs and one upstairs). There are 2 bathrooms on the ground floor. Upstairs is a long open plan sitting, dining and kitchen running along the top of the building with the original exposed trusses and wooden floors with rugs and comfy sofas as well as a kitchen kitted out for small or large groups.

Our accommodation has a wealth of individuality, plenty of space and cooking facilities as well as luxury bedrooms, comfy beds including four poster, some of these are downstairs for ease of access and all are close to bathrooms. We have tried to provide you with accommodation that is up to date but relaxed, where you can feel at home and put your feet up after walk in the peaks straight from the door or where you can chill out with your family and friends either by the fire or watching the fantastic sunsets across the peaks on the decking or in the gardens.

The gardens are spacious and safe and there are decking and BBQ areas as well as an enclosed lawned garden. There are also paddocks, wooded areas and 22 acres of fields to explore. Feeding the Alpacas and Goats on the farm is almost obligatory, as is collecting eggs!

Pets are welcome in the courtyard property; however, we have two other properties on site that we try and keep allergy and pet free (though with the farm being home to an animal sanctuary being allergy free isn't always easy!)

Our farm is also home to Dovedale Animal Sanctuary and every animal (apart from Ozzi-Bear our dog) is rescued. Guests often go and say hello and feed our resident alpacas, goats and ponies as well going to collect eggs from the hen house and feeding the Ducks and Geese. We lend ourselves to guests who love animals as our cheeky goats and alpacas love to come and say hello especially to those who have apple or a carrot or two! In hiring the farm, you are supporting Dovedale Animal Sanctuary.

Guests often wonder about the facilities; all the kitchens are large enough for you to provide cooking for everyone on site and we provide all the crockery etc for catering either inside or out. Outside there are three stone BBQ's with an enclosed decking and seating area large enough for all to dine together. The gardens are all south s/west facing and keep the sun long into the evenings and if you have children in your party, there is a safe garden with little tykes play equipment for younger ones. The gardens lead into our fields and paddocks which are perfect for playing games and hosting outdoor activities. All guests are welcome to explore the farm and pet or feed the rescued animals, especially our cheeky goats and alpacas.

All our accommodation is self-catering; but we also provide some "helpful local information " which includes details of caterers and other things to do, so if you would like the option of meals cooked for your stay or for a special occasion this list covers all. We are also happy to book a restaurant or order you a keg of our local ale, ready and tapped for when you arrive.

Lower Damgate Farm is very rural and private, the views are stunning from the farm and you can walk directly to Dovedale or the Manifold valley and surrounding areas without the need of car. Locally we are situated in one of the most beautiful parts of the Peak District, nestled between the Rivers Dove and Manifold both within walking distance from the farm with some lovely local pubs and tea rooms close by. We are surrounded by National Trust land and Ilam Park and tea rooms is just down the hill. Plus, we have loads of space on the farm, both inside and out for everyone to be together or separate dependent upon their needs. Our aim is to make is as comfortable and special as we can for all our guests so they can relax unwind and enjoy this part of the Peak Park and all it has to offer.

(Please see our other listings as in addition, we have two smaller properties at the farm, If available these can also be included with any of the courtyard properties. However the Alpaca Hut Hot Tub is strictly for adults and 2 guests only. Sadly this Hot Tub is not a party tub.
Purdy’s Place sleeps 4 guests. The double bedroom has a slipper bath and the 2nd bedroom is a twin next to a lovely shower bathroom. Also included in this space is living and cooking facilities)

We are a small family run farm in the Peak District National Park situated very close to Dovedale and the Manifold Valley with some stunning walks straight from the door. Karl and I (Carolyn) converted our farm buildings into luxury holiday accommodation in 1999 and raised our family at the farm. We pride ourselves on a "nothing is a problem" philosophy with the ethos of creating a relaxed and enjoyable escape from the worries of the world.
We are a little biased but where we live is truly special, and we love welcoming our guests who come to the farm for any occasion. The cottages work well for either individual families or friends as well as larger groups and our properties can be independent or shared.
We also live on site, and are approachable as well as happy to help in any way.
Our cottage bookings also help us to support our onsite animal rescue farm, Dovedale Animal Sanctuary which we set up in 1996. We provide a forever loving home to a range of animals including alpacas, goats, horses, geese, ducks and chickens, we even rescue hedgehogs! We work closely with all our animals and it is rewarding to see our guests interacting and feeding the animals as they have often come from neglected backgrounds so its heartening to see everyone happy and enjoying themselves....

We hope we meet you and we would love to welcome you to our farm where you can enjoy the stunning scenery as well as enjoy time with your family and friends.
