This private first floor apartment is furnished with a double and single bed, and recently painted and redecorated. It is situated in a secure walled garden setting, and is an easy five minute walk to town where you can enjoy shopping, socializing, and restaurants easily any time.

The space
This private, secure, and comfortable first level apartment has a small kitchen with stove/oven and refrig, its own covered porch, and a view the Lake Atitlan volcanoes. The short 5 minute walk to town makes it easy for shopping, activities, and restaurants, but far enough for quiet nights. The doors and windows and kitchen for this apartment were hand built by me, having been a cabinetmaker in the states for 25 years. The matrimonial bed is provided with 100% cotton sheets, and the bathroom, with 24 hour hot water from a brass rain shower head, sufficient towels, and complimentary shampoo and soap for stays less than a week. There's also a single bed that serves as another couch during the day and to sleep a third person.

The apartment is located inside a secure walled garden and has wifi internet access and use of the washing machine. There's a wonderful private garden to enjoy and often other guests staying with me in the house, or the other apartment, from all destinations, to chat and exchange information with. We can meet you at the public dock, or at Blind Lemon's Restaurant in the central area of San Marcos to help you with your luggage, or even arrange transportation from the airport in Guatemala City if you like.

Other things to note
I also give private lessons and group workshops on playing acoustic and slide guitar blues.

By reason of taking a blues guitar workshop in 1994 which changed my life, I've become an acoustic blues/roots musician and recorded my first CD, Lucky Seven, in 2014 in London. Born and raised and educated at Lehigh University, in Pennsylvania, I have lived on Lake Atitlan, in San Marcos, for twenty two years and am married to Catarina, a Maya woman born here. I love the Guatemalan people and culture and enjoy sharing my home, my experiences here, and my music at Blind Lemon's, with my Airbnb guests and those that wonder in. I have two beautiful guest apartments and a large house available, Casa Tula, that have great views of the lake and its volcanoes. I built these with local workers that I've worked together with for years, and have done most of the woodwork and a lot of the furniture, having had a woodworking business for years in the states. I love sharing these creations and the peaceful walled garden, 7 Volcanes, with my guests. I often arrange one on one Spanish lessons with my sister in law, Rebeca, and my son Ludwin is very active with my guests and can guide on some great hikes. I also help my guests with transportation arrangements to and from the airport.
