Two peaceful double bedrooms with your own en suite bathroom with roll-top bath in sandstone Edwardian villa in the best street in the West End of Glasgow.
Just a few minutes walk from everywhere you'd want to go in the West End - bars and restaurants in Ashton Lane, Kibble Palace in the Botanic Gardens, Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, Charles Rennie Macintosh House at the Hunterian Gallery, shops and cafes of Byres Road, Glasgow University, Hillhead Underground station... And convenient for the city centre (half hour walk or a few stops on underground) or getting out of town and exploring the rest of Scotland.
Use of lovely big family kitchen for help-yourself breakfast, tea, coffee etc.
There's free on-street parking right outside the house. Unlimited high-speed wireless internet access. And TV with all the Freeview digital channels in your room. iPod/iPhone dock with clock radio. Hairdryer etc.
Your room and bathroom are in a separate bit of the house with its own staircase so it's really private. There is a second room in the same part of the house (see pictures) so if you want to come as a larger group, there is space for up to four people in two double beds.
If you'd rather take a shower, there's also a big walk-in shower in another part of the house.
There's space in the room for a cot which we have available if you're bringing a baby. We also have a high chair if you need one.
Please do get in touch if you'd like any more details.
It is very nice of Dany's reception. Dany's home is comfortable and really friendly for a short-term stay. I enjoyed her breakfast and nice talking in the morning. Location is very near to the busy street. You can go to everywhere in Glasgow easily. The nice experience in Glasgow should be unforgetable. I will stay in Dany's home on next visit in Glasgow.
Had a great time visiting Glasgow, Dany is a very welcoming and helpful host with a wealth of local knowledge. The house has real historic charm and we would definitely consider staying again.
Danny is a great host, very attentive and accommodating. Her home is a lovely Edwardian house, full of original features and in an ideal location for shopping and sightseeing, just a short walk away from The University of Glasgow and the Botanical Gardens.
Our bedroom was exactly like in the photos, bright, spacious and clean. We found the bed to be very comfortable, just right in terms of firmness and with a good assortment of pillows and covers.
We would love to stay again at Danny's house when travelling to Glasgow in the future.
I had a very enjoyable stay at Danys home. She was very welcoming and accomodating and the room was clean and very spacious.
Danys home is perfecctly situated for anyone wishing to explore Glasgow. Its in a very nice part of the city and I would highly recommend the location and also the host.
Thank you Dany for a lovely stay.
What made staying at Dowanside Road, was not only that the location is arguably one of the best areas to stay in Glasgow and the street was very quiet, even though with a five minute walk down the road, you were in the hub of life, restaurants vintages shops, the Subway, but Dany herself.
Dany is a lovely lady.
Breakfast consisted of a full spread of different breads, cereals, fruit and yoghurt in a classic large Scottish kitchen with the central table as the gathering point to talk and meet other guests.
The house is a Victorian Terrace of fine proportions with an eclectic mixture of furniture and paintings. My room was located at the far end of the house, very private, light and with crisp white linen.
Thank you Dany for making me feel very welcome and for preparing breakfast this morning for such an early departure.
I wrote a review but it did not seem to go throughand now I see I have to add a (website hidden) review was that I was very happy with the experience and will be sure to go back the next time I am in Glasgow. Thanks Dany

Hi, I was born in France but have lived in Scotland for a long time. I'm interested in art and architecture and I like to travel, see films, exhibitions and plays, eat well and generally enjoy all there is to enjoy, particularly meeting new people. I can tell you all you need to know about Glasgow and direct you to all the nicest places to visit. As well as renting out the rooms in my home, I also take care of my daughter Ruth's flat in London. Look forward to meeting you.
